I love my job and wish I had 'gone back to work' years ago !! (I'm a 40 something mum of 4)

I'm a lunchtime supervisor at the local primary school - only been there about 3 months and I love it ! My confidence as a human being has grown immeasurably, my drive to get up and go has never been so real.

Yea it's only a few hours a week - but it's a few hours a week I'm doing something and making a difference I hope in being a positive influence to the children.

Thankyou for reading and letting me spill my guts with how happy I am
Right now x

Me too. Had a break from work for many years. Just started this job. I really love it!

Happydowninthemouth · 01/02/2019 20:30

Ah. I’m so pleased for you that you’re so happy. Being a mum is a thankless task at times and you really need to ‘be your own person’. I’m lucky that I’ve always had this and never given up my fabulous job, being able to do just 3-4 hours a week even when my children were just under 3 months old. Therefore, always keeping ‘my hand in’ but always being there always for them. Women have a rough life and men would never feel the need to post this. Very best of luck to you and your talents and hope it’s going to lead to greater things in the future if you want it. Remember. You are on your way to being what you want and need to be. Interesting how few men would need to post this.

Thank you for posting. I’m going to start a new job next next week after a long time of being a sahm and I really don’t want to go. My anxiety is through the roof . Your post has made me feel hopeful going back might be a good thing.

Me too! Went back to a mum job, part time, low salary, local about 11 years ago and worked my way up back to senior management. I work 4 days a week and I absolutely love it. It’s busy and stressful but it makes me feel totally alive. I’m so lucky to have it

EssentialHummus · 01/02/2019 22:25
