CRAP! steaks

Defrosted some fancy lamb steaks

They were delicious pan fried hot and fast

However. There were 4 of them and two of us!

AIBU to somehow salvage the 2 we aren't eating?

There must be a way.

Without them being minging and chewy.

Just eat them. I'd easily eat two and Mr formerbabe would feel hard done by if he only had two...

Maybe we're just greedy!

Birdsgottafly · 01/02/2019 19:23

Slow cook them in a minted gravy, similar to a casserole.

Birdsgottafly · 01/02/2019 19:24

Although I would have eaten them, as well, but didn't want to be the first to say that.

Atalune · 01/02/2019 19:25

Cook them like you’ve done already. Cut them into strips and freeze.

Then defrost and have the lamb strips in a flat bread with hummus, feta, pomegranate salad with olives and minty garlic yoghurt dressing.

Ooh nice! Thanks folks.

On the slow cook one, do I chop em up like making a stew?

@Atalune I suspect this will be the way we go for speed and ease Grin

@Birdsgottafly Grin that's what DH said but I can't do it and that talked him out of it

If the spares aren't yet cooked, just keep them in the fridge and cook them tomorrow.

Jupiter13 · 01/02/2019 19:29

I would eat all 4 to myself..😂

breakthepattern · 01/02/2019 19:30

@safariboot the rarest of rare occasions we're out to dinner tomorrow!

OP posts:
GertrudeWilloughby · 01/02/2019 20:28

We would have eaten 2 each... Wink

VanillaSauce · 01/02/2019 20:31

Eat them cold for lunch.

DianaPrincessOfThemyscira · 01/02/2019 20:41

You must have the teeniest of tiny appetites to only eat one lamb chop each.

breakthepattern · 01/02/2019 20:59

Not chips, steaks!

*chops

breakthepattern · 01/02/2019 21:14

I definitely would have eaten 3 chops Grin

You can let them overnight in the fridge, then slice thinly against the grain and dress with a fish sauce/lime/hot sauce mix on some green salad with rice noodles and coriander.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/02/2019 21:17

Oh sorry, it's lamb.

In this case you need a tahini/lemon dressing.
