To think only the woman gets a bad rep in Fatal Attraction?

Yes she did crazy things like kidnap the daughter and boil the bunny. She probably was crazy.

But Michael Douglas was hardly blameless. He lead her on, fucked her and then went back to his family hoping she’d go away.

Also his wife forgave him far too quickly.

Michael Douglas also came out of it really badly, but she was over the top extreme

Years since I have seen it but I was ent impressed by Michael.Douglas,s behaviour either tbh he was married with a child, her behaviour was very extreme though!

I agree OP we were supposed to empathise with poor Michael Douglas in the end and demonise Glenn Close. It's a pretty sexist film really. But then there were a few of them at the time. An Indecent Proposal being one of the worst.

With almost all films, we will sympathise with the main character, though their actions may be questionable. Agree that Michael Douglas's character came out of it fairly well, considering he'd cheated but I suppose it paled in comparison to the bunny boiling, kidnapping (if I remember correctly) behaviour.

There was an alternative ending that was far harsher on MD’s character but test audiences hated it.

PinkHeart5914 · 01/02/2019 18:15

I think kidnapping the daughter and boiling a bunny are a little more than crazy tbh, not sure even a professional could help that
