Just that. He doesn't sleep. I've had enough. Don't want to do this anymore

I think it is worth giving sleep training a go.

Can you talk us through his daytime naps and the usual night time?

mommybear1 · 01/02/2019 14:02

I hear you@FedUpAndTired2018 I'm 15 months in. What's the routine like? Can you get some time for yourself to get some rest?

FedUpAndTired2018 · 01/02/2019 14:17

I am trying sleep training. It is not working, he's just screaming /crying.

My family are being great but I think they are fed up of it tbh, as am I.

How long have you been training for? Are you doing it on your own or do you have a partner to support you?

loveskaka · 01/02/2019 14:25

Watching this as I am 13 months in and I am exhausted!

FedUpAndTired2018 · 01/02/2019 14:26

This is day 3. I'm trying to stick to the timings for eating, nap time etc but he just won't sleep. I'm in tears again. Just so fed up. I hate my life

Can mother's with babies around similar age let us know their routines pls

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 01/02/2019 14:26

Have you got GP (Dr) support? I rang for an appointment and threatened to leave dc in the foyer if they didn't see me!!
Dr was amazing, and his methods had ds sleeping within a week.

3boysandabump · 01/02/2019 14:32

Is it daytime sleep as well as through the night? Is hard to put down to sleep or is it that he wakes multiple times through the night or both?

loveskaka · 01/02/2019 14:32

@Aprilshowersarecomingsoo
What was his methods?

FedUpAndTired2018 · 01/02/2019 14:34

aprilshowers I am going to try and see the GP on Monday. Don't really expect much help though. When I've mentioned it before I've just been told "some babies just wake up a lot." Well, yeah, clearly.

BuggyWanker · 01/02/2019 14:36

Are you feeding overnight?

FedUpAndTired2018 · 01/02/2019 14:36

Yes it's all sleep. He wakes up multiple times and for a long time (1-2 hours) in the night. He is never in a settled deep sleep either. Always restless and moving

AhoyDelBoy · 01/02/2019 14:39

My DD does this too. She’s 16 mo now and just finally got her down at 12:38am. She’ll wake multiple times in the night to be fed. At my wits end as well, you’re not alone Flowers

Silverschool321 · 01/02/2019 14:39

I went through this with both my babies. It is hell. But after age 2 they started sleeping better and it's a distant memory now. It WILL get better. Your life won't always be like this. Ps if there's any way you can afford a sleep consultant, go for it..

StarkintheSouth · 01/02/2019 14:40

Didn't want to read and run, just wanted to say hang in there. DD was like this until 7 months, that was bad enough so can only imagine how drained you must be. We used controlled crying with a strict bedtime routine. It took some time but we got there in the end. I really hope the GP can help you. Do you have any family or close friends who can give you a break? My best to you.

Silverschool321 · 01/02/2019 14:40

Plus if you haven't already..could you wean?

ReggieKrayDoYouKnowMyName · 01/02/2019 14:40

This sounds like my DD1. Have you tried co sleeping? Saved our sanity.

Seaweed42 · 01/02/2019 14:45

If he's breastfed he may settle better on the formula. A soother and formula not to be sneezed at.

FedUpAndTired2018 · 01/02/2019 14:45

silver 2!!! I honestly don't think I can carry on until then.

ReggieKray yes we do, but he's climbing all over me all night and I can't stand it.

I've paid a sleep consultant for a sleep plan and support. I've said he won't sleep. Nothing yet.

Dreamingofkfc · 01/02/2019 14:46

It's so tough. My other two were crap sleepers but all changed around 18 months. This one is 5 months and we are co-sleeping at night. I'm unable to put him down ATM in the day so use a sling. The only thing that will defo work is time.

SlackerMum1 · 01/02/2019 14:48

How much at all does he nap? 2am party time was a distinct sign DD was dropping naps - I stupidly resisted because all the books and website told me so...

Apple103 · 01/02/2019 14:49

My ds is 2.5 and we are still going through this. Tried two different sleep trainers, co sleeping etc and he just doesnt sleep through. DH and I are just beyond sleep deprived.

He was never a great sleeper, always restless. Sorry op I sympathize

FedUpAndTired2018 · 01/02/2019 14:50

slacker this morning he was up at 6,then napped at 9 - 9.30. He would have had more but the plan says he's only to have 30 minutes then and then 2.5 hours at 12. But I tried for 90 minutes to get him to sleep at lunchtime and it hasn't happened

OP posts:
TulipsInbloom1 · 01/02/2019 14:52

What does the plan say about how and where he naps?
