Was she rude?

I’m semi new at my current job (just over s month) and sometimes I’ll sit with my colleagues for lunch.

Today I was sat with 5 others. 3 of them were having a conversation and were laughing about something and so I asked about a part of it I’d overheard ... and my colleague said to me - oh nothing, I don’t really want to talk about it.

Just felt so uncomfortable and left soon after.

Yes she was rude.

I would assume it's a long story or you had to know some history to get it.

I would assume best intentions and it was nothing personal about you. She may have just literally not wanted to talk about it beyond letting off the immediate steam.

She's a cliquey cow bag.
Kill her with kindness and piss her off

It was probably a detailed story, with lots of ins and outs.

So, no, she wasn't rude.

There were six of you and half of you was having a conversation between them. Which is perfectly acceptable.

If you start overthinking every little exchange, it's going to make work very unpleasant.
