to tell you about the Google Family Link app (it might save your sanity)

It has its flaws for e.g. DS12 can no longer use YouTube app (but can watch via Web browser) BUT it enables you to:

a) set a bedtime at which time your child's phone turns off
b) set maximum use time after which it turns off and
c) you can track where the phone is

All of these can be overriden by you and altered for each day. It has saved us a fair few headaches

If only there was similar for the xbox!

I have no need of this now but it sounds good - although I bet the kids don’t think so 😂

You can turn off the Apps so they can't use them and they earn them back with good behavior. Also can lock the phone but still call them/be called by them during school hours

(DS has so far earnt back two of them, about twenty more games to earn back)

ackle I didn't realise you could turn individual apps off, that's good to know

Ive been using it for a few months. It's brilliant! Tablet can be locked and unlocked from my device remotely even if i am out. I can lock it until he does his homework

This sounds amazing. Does it work on all devices?

I have just installed Family Link. Not very techy though and unsure if I am using it properly! Should I leave the tracker on all the time or set it each time DC heads out? Seems to be using up a lot of my battery so far?

I use the Life 360 App for these features

We use apple family with the kids (7&8) and that’s fab for strong limits etc. Only use it on iPads at the moment, but it can be used for tracking too.

I HATE it. It's clunky, the kids can't access anything downloaded from google play in their Chrome books in their own profile. It's really shite.
