About 8 year old watching music videos

My dd went to a friends house yesterday. She came back saying she had been playing on her friends tablet and watching music videos. One of the music videos she mentioned was ‘nothing breaks like a heart’. I’ve watched this video and I think it’s vile. It’s set in a strip club and has the usual sexualisation of a semi naked Miley. There are also kids shooting gun with is a bit distasteful IMO.
So AIBU to be pissed off that they were left completely unsupervised to watch videos that I think are inappropriate for an 8 and 7 year old.
If IANBU what do I do now? A text to this girls mum would no doubt come across very self righteous and I don’t want to cause any issues for my DD.

I wouldn’t be impressed with that either, but people have different standards and maybe that mum just doesn’t think it’s a big deal. Realistically, the only thing you can do is not let your daughter play over there again. Anything else will come over fairly judgy and you will probably just piss the mum off.

I felt the same way when my kids were younger. I never found a way around it though. Music videos are considered very mainstream, nothing to think about, no reason to stop kids watching them.

I was shocked when school kids on the playground were singing and dancing to spice girls 'what I really really want'. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I agree OP. We have music channels locked as the videos are really unsubscribe for kids

Dd’s Friend is a lovely girl and the parents seem really nice too but obviously we have different standards about internet access.
Im not some ridiculous prude I don’t mind sexy dance moves. Little mix are sexy but powerful in the videos that I’ve seen. It’s just Miley and the strippers in her video seem so subservient and seedy.
