Accidentally just took two sleeping tablets?!

I just took two Nytol 1 a night 50mg sleeping tablets. I have been having real problems sleeping recently hence why I am still awake. Took a tablet and went to brush my teeth and then came back and took another. So I have taken 100mg in total. I am really worried now and don't know what to do, obviously scared to fall asleep. Does anyone know if this will be okay? The active ingredient is diphenhydramine.

I wouldn't imagine it'll harm you at all. Sleep well Smile

I would ring 111 to check.

Omg, relax. You'll be fine.

brizzledrizzle · 31/01/2019 03:48

OP have a look here as it tells you maximum doses for various conditions 100mg looks to be less than the maximum.

Raffleeight · 31/01/2019 03:55

brizzledrizzle Thank you for the link!! I can stop worrying about falling asleep now.

Aquamarine1029 No need for that attitude. Taking too much of certain medications is quite serious.

It's totally fine. Enjoy your sleep Smile

You won't die.

I have done the same in the past, and all that happened was I just felt a bit hungover the next day.

I have trouble sleeping too, I was recommended to listen to the honest guys on YouTube. It's a game changer for me - pop in heads phones, listen, fall asleep? Wake up 2 hours later and repeat I've left my headphones downstairs or I would be listening now! Please try it and let me know how you get on

I’ve also just done this. Scared to fall asleep now because usually I only take one and it never works..
