To think Laura Plummer is naive at best, a bit stupid at worst?

She's just on GMB and doesn't really have any answer for anything apart from 'I don't know'.

Surely she knew it was odd to have that amount of tramadol given to her from someone other than her doctor?

My theory is she was doing it to fund her regular trips to Egypt to see her 'husband

You mean the one that is already married with children

AntheaGreenfern · 31/01/2019 11:58

She doesn't sound capable of using a passport safely.

Maybe the Foreign Office could revoke it in such cases!

MissEliza · 31/01/2019 12:18

Oliver Yep that one. Of course you know polygamy is allowed in Egypt but I think what she had was an orfy marriage which is basically a meaningless bit of paper. She's a complete idiot.

People have some very strange attitudes to drugs in this country. I've had plenty of friends ask me to give them some of my codeine/DHC script as though it would be 'no big deal' - people who wouldn't dream of taking an illegal drug. They're shocked when I tell them that a) no, I can't just 'get more' from my doctor before I'm due and b) in the eyes of the law that would make me a drug dealer.

@badlydrawnperson 😂😂😂 you read my mind !

Intrigued why her husband didnt come back to the UK with her, especially as they had so little time together after release!!!!!!!!!!!

RitaConnors · 01/02/2019 18:29

Her 'husband' would need a visa.

If he was visiting a partner, he would need to be sponsored by them to get a visa.

I kind of assumed they would! I hope it least she's banned from entering Egypt?

It could be because she isn't really his wife. He already has a wife and children in Egypt

SavoyCabbage · 01/02/2019 19:42

Even if they were legally married, you can't just bring non-EU spouses into the UK.

IcedPurple · 01/02/2019 19:51

That's because he isn't her husband.

MissEliza · 03/02/2019 22:48

She has zilch chance of bringing him here. The laws for bringing a spouse into the UK have become very tough.

Tramadol would hardly be first drug of choice for chronic back pain either. So she obtained a few hundred, for someone else (fraudulently), took them to another country (illegality in Egypt notwithstanding) without proof of prescription and, no doubt, labels. Then pleads ignorance. Calculated and planned. Should be charged in this country too.

MrMeSeeks · 03/02/2019 23:14

Though i don't believe her story quite a few people use this for back pain.

Frainbreeze · 03/02/2019 23:17

Yeah, I used to, but it wouldn't be the first drug tried. My GP told me that opioids were last resort if Naproxen and Gabapentin etc didn't relieve the pain.

MrMeSeeks · 03/02/2019 23:25

These were the last things i tried, my friend has never even tried gaba, diff docs.

Momo18 · 03/02/2019 23:25

I went to school with her. Doesn't surprise me the media thing at all, the whole family loves the spotlight. I genuinely belief she didn't know it was a banned drug in that country though. She had them in the top of her suitcase, there was no travel guidance published by the FO explaining it was an illegal drug either.

Momo18 · 03/02/2019 23:26

Believe*

FedUpMum40 · 03/02/2019 23:39

She said she got them from a friend at work but she can't talk about that for legal reasons, so I presume matey from work has been called in for interview
