To think Laura Plummer is naive at best, a bit stupid at worst?

She's just on GMB and doesn't really have any answer for anything apart from 'I don't know'.

Surely she knew it was odd to have that amount of tramadol given to her from someone other than her doctor?

Ohnonotuagain · 30/01/2019 09:05

I found her infuriating on GMB. She's got away with it so I hope she just disappears now.

ResistanceIsNecessary · 30/01/2019 09:05

Fraxinus they are prescription only - the clue is right there! They weren't even prescribed to her - she got them from a friend (who has now changed their story and said that she stole them). If his back pain was so bad why wasn't he seeing his own Dr and getting treatment himself via legal means?

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 30/01/2019 09:07

They’re not just prescription only. They’re a controlled drug. What she did was illegal here and could have landed her with a jail sentence.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 30/01/2019 09:09

I think she should be arrested here too.

Biologifemini · 30/01/2019 09:10

The woman isn’t very bright. Lots of women like this are easily duped by men who might want something like money/drugs or a visa.

Lots of people have a below average IQ and they are often tricked into doing things everyone else wouldn’t. She has served time and been stupid and should just stay out of the spotlight. Bury of course she won’t because the papers want a story so she will be exploited here instead.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/01/2019 09:12

I'm staying she didn't know what she was doing was wrong, but who knows. She could actually be a very clever women who was looking for a way to fast buck.
I'll smuggle these in, and hopefully get caught. Do some time inside.
Yes it'll be horrendous but worth it for the fame and celebrity status when I get out.
Oh and I could also write a book.
I'm easily sitting on a million here.
Who's to say that's not the case. Some people will literally do anything for notoriety.

PositiveVibez · 30/01/2019 09:13

"If she acquired them fraudently in this country she should be punished here too*

I'm sure I heard there was an investigation here, but it was dropped as the person she said she got the pills off, refused to cooperate or something.

She's a fuckin idiot. She obtained the drugs fraudulently in this country. She must have known this as she knows they aren't over the counter medicine. Her Egyptian husband must have told her he couldn't get them in Egypt. She never asked why?

I too hope she doesn't get infamous from this, sad face mail story and book deal etc.

Iwantdaffodils · 30/01/2019 09:16

Apparently the captain of her flight back to the U.K. welcomed her back home when they landed and people were cheering

How utterly depressing.

Fairylea · 30/01/2019 09:18

I do think a lot of people are incredibly daft when it comes to medical stuff and knowing how dangerous / controlled some medications are. So many people unwittingly take overdoses of things because they don’t read leaflets, so many people don’t bother to read guidelines on prescription medications entering a country they’re travelling to. There’s a recent thread on mumsnet (sorry to mention this) where a woman’s husband came home with a random tablet he said the doctors prescribed for her and she took it! No leaflet, no nothing. Who does that?!

I had a pip assessment recently and the assessor openly told me that she purchases antibiotics and asthma inhalers when she travels abroad as it’s easier than trying to get the doctor to prescribe them here and she likes having “lots of spares” just incase.

People just live in a different world. I suspect Laura P might be in that bubble somewhere.

Gromance02 · 30/01/2019 09:18

She is either thick or a very good actress. I thought she came across more the former on GMB this morning. She got away lightly with just 14 months imprisonment for what she did.

whitetoblerone · 30/01/2019 09:31

I worry about putting paracetamol in my bag 😳😂. She's an idiot, I watched the GMB interview and taking that many tablets from a fraudulent prescription in a Middle Eastern country? Wow. Who doesn't check the guidelines first anyway!

OhDearHowSadNeverMind · 30/01/2019 09:36

Apparently the captain of her flight back to the U.K. welcomed her back home when they landed and people were cheering

This kind of lauding the stupid, the untalented and the criminal is precisely why we have people like Gemma bloody Collins all over everything.
Why bother working hard or doing something laud-worthy when you can just smuggle some drugs or behave like a complete arsehole ffs

whitetoblerone · 30/01/2019 09:39

Ugh don't get me started on 'The GC' 🤬

Panicwiththebisto · 30/01/2019 09:41

She should have her passport taken away so she can't go aboard and do stupid stuff that then costs the taxpayer £££ to sort out.

Peaseblossom22 · 30/01/2019 09:41

She had enough for 10 weeks , 190 doses of a prescription only medicine . She should be investigated in the UK , where did she get them from , was it a stolen prescription , fraud etc etc .

GalacticChickenShit · 30/01/2019 09:42

Now she's back, she should be tried and punished for obtaining a controlled drug illegally.
People like this make things all much harder for those of us who need these medications.

GalacticChickenShit · 30/01/2019 09:46

She had enough for 10 weeks , 190 doses of a prescription only medicine .

If they were 50mg, that's only five weeks worth, assuming 2 tablets up to 4 times a day

EmeraldShamrock · 30/01/2019 09:55

I believe she knew it was wrong, but underestimated the severity. I reckon the guy manipulated her but she was very stupid.
She has paid the price and I wouldnt wish for anyone be locked up in a foreign country even my worst enemy.
Lesson is learnt, I hope other travellers learn from her mistake.

endofthelinefinally · 30/01/2019 09:56

I wonder how the friend who got them for her is feeling.
It isn't possible for anyone in the UK to obtain large quantities of a controlled drug without breaking the law. So somebody should be investigating that.

Binglebong · 30/01/2019 10:08

How did the friend she "stole" the pills from have 300? I'm sure you wouldn't get that many in a single prescription.

incywincyspide · 30/01/2019 10:09

Urgh 'The GC' and Dan Wooton going on about her being amazing

OP posts:
moanymoaner · 30/01/2019 10:10

She's not stupid! She's acting up because she's scared of saying something she shouldn't! She can't now admit to taking them purposely . Who doesn't check how many tablets or what they are??!!

SummerGems · 30/01/2019 10:14

I have absolutely no sympathy for her what so ever. But I’m sure someone will be along to say that she was a poor woman coerced into obtaining the drugs for him yada yada yada.

As far as obtaining the drugs is concerned, there is a vast vast difference between giving someone a drug which you have been prescribed and shouldn’t be giving to others who have not (a stupid thing to do but one which people do all the time for the occasional pill and so on,) and obtaining an illegal prescription for more than the legal amount of a drug to take abroad to a country where said drug is illegal.

She bloody knew what she was doing, and the evasive way in which she was avoiding Peers Morgan’s questions on GMB this morning is a very clear indication of the fact she absolutely knew what she was doing and clearly just played the thick card in order that she thought she could get away with it.

Is the partner in question still on the scene btw? And will he be coming over on a visa soon I wonder?

And who is Gemma Colins?

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 30/01/2019 10:21

Do GMB pay convicted criminals for giving interviews?

IcedPurple · 30/01/2019 10:46

tablets weren't hidden, so Its not like she tried to sneak them in

Weren't they repackaged as Panadol or something like that?
