To think a last minute panic deal is not the best way to decide a country's future

Plus the EU have said they're not going to re-do the deal, so there's that.

NabooThatsWho · 29/01/2019 15:29

Just when you think we can’t become any more of a laughing stock.

araiwa · 29/01/2019 15:38

If TM was replaced by a rock it would be better

Same amount of achievement but a lot less embarrassment during it all

SewingBeesDontSting · 29/01/2019 15:40

How many times is she allowed to keep putting forward revised deals to parliament but we're not allowed a new vote?
Fucking Bitch.

DGRossetti · 29/01/2019 15:53

WILL OF THE PEOPLE.

GET OVER IT

DGRossetti · 29/01/2019 15:53

(sorry, my Caps Lock is connected to my "Brexiteer slogans" macro)

TeddyIsaHe · 29/01/2019 15:55

Absolutely sick to death of the tories being so fucking useless and scared of upsetting the psychotic hard-righters rather than giving the public a bloody vote on it. Fuck MPs making decisions, clearly incapable.

User758172 · 29/01/2019 16:00

@TeddyIsaHe

That’s one of the reasons I object to another referendum - that’s why they are there, to represent us and put all their efforts into negotiating this. I object to them throwing their hands up and declaring it’s too hard, so they’ll throw it back to us.

User758172 · 29/01/2019 16:02

The Parliamentarians had it right during the Civil War, four centuries ago! - ‘we must do our duty to those who sent us here’ - our politicians seem to have forgotten what they are for.

heartshapedknob · 29/01/2019 16:05

Not unreasonable.

It is however unreasonable for a government to set an advisory referendum for such a big question with no clear way forward set in place. And for those who voted leave to expect the rest of us to live with the consequences.

DGRossetti · 29/01/2019 16:07

That’s one of the reasons I object to another referendum

I think that ship sailed a while ago. We are where we are. We are going where we are going. We will know it when we get there.

Apparently.

DGRossetti · 29/01/2019 16:08

And for those who voted leave to expect the rest of us to live with the consequences.

That's after we've come up with the solution. Because Leave sure as hell ain't.

DanglyBangly · 29/01/2019 16:09

And, pray, what are the other options? Enlighten us!

Walkingdeadfangirl · 29/01/2019 16:10

How is it a last minute deal, they have spent 2 years writing it.

HebeJeeby · 29/01/2019 16:15

Sorry but politicians have had 2 years to work together and come up with a solution that was in the best interests of the nation but no, they chose to pursue their own political and personal agendas and look at the mess we are in now. I have no time for any of them after this debacle but I am especially angry with the Remainers who have done their level best to stop Brexit, despite it being the will of the people, and now instead of leaving with a deal that could have made the best of a bad job we now have a pile of shit.

bananaramaspyjamas · 29/01/2019 16:29

How is it a last minute deal, they have spent 2 years writing it.

No I'm talking about the new thing she's going to negotiate right now, because we didn't like the negotiated one. And we're in such a good position.

Just face facts that Brexit and the referendum was a shit idea and have a rethink! (that is to TM)

OP posts:
bananaramaspyjamas · 29/01/2019 16:31

Also, the lack of a deal can't be blamed on the remainers! the hard line Brexiters didn't want it.

It's not the will of the people. Its less than half the people, all voting for different lies things

OP posts:
DGRossetti · 29/01/2019 16:37

but I am especially angry with the Remainers who have done their level best to stop Brexit

Any examples ? You can start after the 2017 General Election which didn't return a working majority, and progress from there.

DGRossetti · 29/01/2019 16:41

Also, the lack of a deal can't be blamed on the remainers!

That sounds suspiciously like logic and sense, so wasted on Brexiteers.

WE WON GET OVER IT

WILL OF THE PEOPLE

(oops, faulty keyboard again ....)

JacquesHammer · 29/01/2019 16:45

Rather than the fault of the fucking idiots who voted for Leave in the first place.

So just to clarify.

Leave won, will of the people yada yada.

But the “losing side” are to blame for the shitshow we’re currently part of?

Nice try to absolve yourself

Knicknackpaddyflak · 29/01/2019 16:53

I wish to God they would throw their hands up, admit they're utterly bloody incompetent and let the general public decide whether they wish to walk over a cliff with them or call the whole thing off.

'Leave' was an option offered with the assumption of a government capable of finding their own arses with both hands. Having a plan in the first place. Doing something from day 1 about dealing with food supply. The only thing to do with this farce is call it off.

DGRossetti · 29/01/2019 16:54

let the general public decide

because that went so well last time ?

Auntiepatricia · 29/01/2019 16:57

LEAVER: I want an omelette.
REMAINER: Right. It’s just we haven’t got any eggs.
LEAVER: Yes, we have. There they are. [HE POINTS AT A CAKE]
REMAINER: They’re in the cake.
LEAVER: Yes, get them out of the cake, please.
REMAINER: But we voted in 1975 to put them into a cake.
LEAVER: Yes, but that cake has got icing on it. Nobody said there was going to be icing on it.
REMAINER: Icing is good.
LEAVER: And there are raisins in it. I don’t like raisins. Nobody mentioned raisins. I demand another vote.
DAVID CAMERON ENTERS.
DAVID CAMERON: OK.
DAVID CAMERON SCARPERS.
LEAVER: Right, where’s my omelette?
REMAINER: I told you, the eggs are in the cake.
LEAVER: Well, get them out.
EU: It’s our cake.
JEREMY CORBYN: Yes, get them out now.
REMAINER: I have absolutely no idea how to get them out. Don’t you know how to get them out?
LEAVER: Yes! You just get them out and then you make an omelette.
REMAINER: But how?! Didn’t you give this any thought?
LEAVER: Saboteur! You’re talking eggs down. We could make omelettes before the eggs went into the cake, so there’s no reason why we can’t make them now.
THERESA MAY: It’s OK, I can do it.
REMAINER: How?
THERESA MAY: There was a vote to remove the eggs from the cake, and so the eggs will be removed from the cake.
REMAINER: Yeah, but…
LEAVER: Hang on, if we take the eggs out of the cake, does that mean we don’t have any cake? I didn’t say I didn’t want the cake, just the bits I don’t like.
EU: It’s our cake.
REMAINER: But you can’t take the eggs out of the cake and then still have a cake.
LEAVER: You can. I saw the latest Bake Off and you can definitely make cakes without eggs in them. It’s just that they’re horrible.
REMAINER: Fine. Take the eggs out. See what happens.
LEAVER: It’s not my responsibility to take the eggs out. Get on with it.
REMAINER: Why should I have to come up with some long-winded incredibly difficult chemical process to extract eggs that have bonded at the molecular level to the cake, while somehow still having the cake?
LEAVER: You lost, get over it.
THERESA MAY: By the way, I’ve started the clock on this.
REMAINER: So I assume you have a plan?
THERESA MAY: Actually, back in a bit. Just having another election.
REMAINER: Jeremy, are you going to sort this out?
JEREMY CORBYN: Yes. No. Maybe.
EU: It’s our cake.
LEAVER: Where’s my omelette? I voted for an omelette.
REMAINER: This is ridiculous. This is never going to work. We should have another vote, or at least stop what we’re doing until we know how to get the eggs out of the cake while keeping the bits of the cake that we all like.
LEAVER/MAY/CORBYN: WE HAD A VOTE. STOP SABOTAGING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. EGGSIT MEANS EGGSIT.
REMAINER: Fine, I’m moving to France. The cakes are nicer there.

glueandstick · 29/01/2019 17:02

I’ve made snap decisions about my future and let me tell you that no good came of it.

I’m bulk buying chocolate as I’m not going to watch this shit show without calories.

Ernmas · 29/01/2019 17:04

AuntyPatricia :) :) fantastic

Ali1cedowntherabbithole · 29/01/2019 17:07

It’s becoming a bit the boy who cried wolf though. Don’t get me wrong I am taking it seriously, but how many more “this is it” moments can we be expected to take?
