I woke up this morning in agony. No food in. Only shop across the road is a small corner shop type job. I've just purchased a tinned Princes Mince and Veg pie Blush
Must get to Lidl for a good stock up prior to blooming Brexit or I'll starve to death.
My mission for February is to spend about 100 quid on essentials.

I'm just thinking of all the things you can buy for £2.49 that are better than a tinned Princes Mince and Veg pie. It's a pretty long list!

AuntieOxident · 29/01/2019 00:50

Just as long as you serve it with HP sauce , walkingonsunshine*.
*other brown sauces are available. (But not as good)

AuntieOxident · 29/01/2019 01:00

Oh please. Who cooks a lamb tagine just for themselves? He’s probably just shining you on, OP. While tucking into cheese on toast or a bacon sarnie.
True story — we had lunch at the Waterside Inn at Bray, (Chef-proprietor Alain Roux). Alain did the customary tour of the dining room and stopped to chat to us. Friend asked him what he had had for lunch that day.
Beans on toast.

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 29/01/2019 01:36

Yes Auntie but it was probably homemade spelt-olive-pine nut focaccia with homemade beans and hand-drawn butter.

I got to go there for my 40th and will never forget it.

I use to have tinned meat balls they were gross

Should of just had some noodles

Bellasorellaa · 29/01/2019 03:05

You would have been a 10/10 chav if you brought spam

Justagirlwholovesaboy · 29/01/2019 03:08

I actually really want to eat spam now just because it was mentioned! Delicious mystery meat!

TannatTart · 29/01/2019 03:15

I nearly burst with excitement when I saw a road sign for Fray Bentos on a recent trip to Uruguay. American dh didn’t get the joke though.

I couldn't give two hoots what anyone puts in their supermarket trolley but if they walk past me in the aisle in ASDA wearing pyjamas/dressing gown/slippers, no matter how they try to cover it up under a puffa jacket (and they never manage to cover it up, probably because they're filth who don't care), then I will judge you as utter utter filth. A PP asks above "What's the point of getting dressed?" - because you're outside your house, so you should be dressed; so the rest of the world knows you're not a scratty piece of scum, that's why. Otherwise I might as well ask why I don't go to ASDA with my todger hanging out of my trousers - because I'm not scum, that's why.

Pucka rant that. Respect.

SpamChaudFroid · 29/01/2019 11:29

I don't like tinned pies or the word chav. Sounds sneery.

I've been to Sainsbo's in my PJs multiple times. I don't have my todger hanging out though. Thanks for the extra things I can call myself.

Anyway, isn't it past your bedtime?

LadyandGent · 29/01/2019 12:21

I admit.

I am filth. Utter utter filth.
I am a scratty piece of scum.

The reason I couldn't get anything healthier is because, they really don't sell much - it's a small shop, a tiny convenience store. And you pay 3 times the price there. But I was too unwell to go further afield to source nutritious grub.

My pjs are actually black leggings and a fleece. More loungewear than pjs.

Still, I know I was operating well below par yesterday. I will never do that again. Never.

You actually do sound quite scummy.

He does, doesn't he.

Ewwww! So I eat tinned food sometimes and have done a 'big shop' at Iceland, but no way would associate myself with someone who called it a todger. My dp is quite quiet and I don't think I've ever heard him call his anything 😀

headinhands · 29/01/2019 12:46

I have a Fray Bentos from time to time: 1 every couple of years. I sort of see it like a booster vaccination

LionsHeart · 29/01/2019 12:50

Fray Bentos - known here as Desperate Dan's Cow Pie!
My DH is still searching for Toast Toppers - I daren't tell him they're discontinued Sad

artisanscotcheggs · 29/01/2019 18:18

@Bellasorellaa Ohgod Campbell's canned meatballs! I used to eat those as a kid. 🤮

artisanscotcheggs · 29/01/2019 18:23

P. s

I would totally go to a shop in my PJs if I needed to. It's only revolting if they're filthy and unwashed. People walk about outside in filthier things, stuff like overalls and mucky work clothes etc, the anti PJ brigade are just stuck up twats.

I walked to the postbox in my Batman onesie last week. It was clean, I was covered up, and more importantly I was warm, so stick that up your puckered holes.

They've probably been condemned
