So I had bloods done b’cos I was/am generally feeling wiped out. Can’t make it through the day type of tired, with night sweats to boot

Bloods are all normal apart from

Haemoglobin concentration 118, Lymphocyte count 0.8 and serum ferritin level 17

I checked results online, called and the receptionist said “yes all fine doctor has said to repeat test in one month“

Your ferritin is too low. Ask for an appointnent.

AGHHHH · 28/01/2019 17:16

What were your actual thyroid, vitamin D, B12 and folate levels? Normal is debatable.

Fabaunt · 28/01/2019 17:16

Your ferritin is low but your iron level is ok, ferritin is just your iron stores. Get some over the counter iron tablets and repeat the bloods in a month.

@Kennehora I wasn’t suggesting my doctors had done any wrong exactly just wondering if I was being unreasonable in wanting to actually see the doctor not wait a month feeling like crap

@Fabaunt thanks I’ll get some

I can't remember my exact ferritin level but it was definitely a lot lower than 17.*

OP can still be feeling unwell due to those ferritin levels. Everyone is different but 17 is not optimal and people can feel unwell and lose their hair on higher levels than that.

Looks like they didn't check your vitamin D or thyroid though OP, or did they?

Was meant to be bold!

Really daft question, but have they checked for a UTI? I’ve been feeling awful for 2 weeks- nausea, exhaustion, night sweats... blood tests were fine, and today they’ve tested for and diagnosed a UTI. I haven’t had any pain when going to the toilet, at all.

No I haven’t been checked for a uti, but this has been going on for moths rather than weeks if that makes any difference
