Even I dunno! Where do you live?! I don’t think I’ve ever even been in a coffee shop that plays loud music!

halfwitpicker · 28/01/2019 15:47

Where do you live?

BarbaraofSevillle · 28/01/2019 15:48

I'd like some that aren't rammed with people who Never Stop Talking.

A coffee shop quiet carriage.

FuckOffMeadowSoprano · 28/01/2019 16:02

I'd love there to be silent coffee shops! Or at least a no talking section.

RangeRider · 28/01/2019 16:04

A coffee shop quiet carriage.
Love that idea!

CallMeVito · 28/01/2019 16:08

I can't think of a coffee shop, chain or not, with loud music. I am in Central London if that helps!

LakieLady · 28/01/2019 16:12

The Costa where I live has loud music.

On the plus side, it drowns out the noise from the mother and toddler group that seem to meet there every weekday morning.

(Not that it will bother me any longer, now that I know Costa don't allow dogs in, I'm boycotting them and using the dog-friendly independent coffee shop a little further up the road).

easyandy101 · 28/01/2019 16:12

Crushed bean in Croydon

Lovely coffee, quiet and chilled out and friendly staff

mermaidbutmytailfelloff · 28/01/2019 16:18

yes LakieLady I'm with you boycotting Costa for their no dog rule. And Wetherspoons. Independents all the way for me.

OP no idea about your question, but you try independents!

Foslady · 28/01/2019 16:22

Waterstones cafes?

3boysandabump · 28/01/2019 16:25

I've never been in a coffee shop that has music on

2ellenor2 · 28/01/2019 16:35

Greggs? not sure that's a coffee shop though

Ribbonsonabox · 28/01/2019 16:37

Waterstone's didnt used to play music but its been about a year since I've been in one. Loads of independent coffee shops where I live dont play any music. Try non chain ones. Tea rooms hardly ever play loud music so try them too.

WhereYouLeftIt · 28/01/2019 16:38

There's loads round here. None of which is any use to you if you don't live 'round here' Grin.

Where are you, I'm sure someone local to you will know of one (or more).

TheQueef · 28/01/2019 16:38

All coffee shops in Amsterdam play horrible drum and bass. I'd love a bit of carpenters but I just sit outside to toke and leave the younglings to their pounding beats.
YANBU

SpoonBlender · 28/01/2019 16:38

I tend to hit up a randomly picked coffee shop once a month or so, and haven't had a loud music one in years.

Pubs and restaurants though... they're a bugger for it.

AGHHHH · 28/01/2019 17:14

I can't remember the last time I went in a coffee shop with loud music! Fortunately.

ALongHardWinter · 28/01/2019 17:15

All the Costa's that I've been in have music playing, but it is usually drowned out by people talking so loudly!

Shantotto · 28/01/2019 17:17

My favourite local coffee shop also sells vinyl so there’s music on but it’s not obnoxiously loud and it’s always good music! Oh aye not noticed it very loud in other ones. If it’s a small local place ask if they’d turn it down a touch?
