Not to book holiday abroad this year because of Brexit worries?

Just that really - I know my local airport might be looking at opening up to prioritise freight transport and can't bear the thought of having travel disrupted. But not sure if I'm being unreasonable?

Are you booking your holidays abroad as per usual, or are you more cautious this year?

All booked. (First trip abroad this year is in April)

I personally probably wouldn’t book to go away right around the time we actually leave (end of March/beginning of April) just because if any changes to travel rules etc do have to be made it’s not unreasonable to think there might be some teething problems.
For the summer though I wouldn’t be overly worried about booking it now, it’s not going to grind to a halt for months (I hope!)

We usually holiday in Europe, but I've put off planning anything just yet. Will wait until April, not least because the three DC can't confirm with me yet when they'll be available - festivals, submission of coursework for Master's, starting a placement, etc.

I am not booking until after Brexit happens and we know what's going on....

MotherWol · 28/01/2019 12:31

I'm holding off booking anything until after 29th March and we know what's going on.

Ha! We will be abroad from 27th march for a week... didnt give it a second thought when i booked now wondering if i should have
Confused

I wouldn't book to leave before 29 March with plans to come back after, just in case. If an April trip suited best, I may well chance it, but that would only be because we could afford to absorb the loss if it was cancelled.

I'm in NI, so would probably just book to fly from Dublin rather than Belfast, and hope that all would be ok with the Border. I know people who have done this, especially those with Irish passports. But obviously not an option for everyone!

We’re going to DLP for a week in May. Booked last year and didn’t think twice about it tbh.
