Is this okay? Sliced chicken in a packet, use by date 26 Jan. Not been opened.
Are we able to use it?

I would.

couchparsnip · 27/01/2019 12:49

Open it and smell it. Probably ok if it smells fine and has been refrigerated properly thw whole time.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 27/01/2019 12:49

Not if it smells off or has gone slimy mind.

WineAndTiramisu · 27/01/2019 12:49

I would as well, especially if unopened

SmackthePhony · 27/01/2019 12:49

It’s fine. People are so scared of use by dates!

ShrinkWrap · 27/01/2019 12:49

Just try it and report back here if you survive.

(I would)

MeganJPerry · 27/01/2019 12:50

Yes. The use by date is normally a little earlier then what is safe. Once opened though, I will use you what you, then maybe throw the rest.

LaurieMarlow · 27/01/2019 12:50

I'm sure it's fine

erja · 27/01/2019 12:50

Would it be okay for a 2 year old? That's where I'm skeptical about it!

OP posts:
erja · 27/01/2019 12:51

Sceptical*

Off topic question. I cant see how you can edit a post here to correct mistakes. Is their one?

lovely36 · 27/01/2019 12:52

Just smell it. If there's no smell it's fine but if it smells bad then throw it out! To be honest I wouldn't take my chances. Dh and I are chicken in date that had a weird smel once and get got terrible food poisoning 🤢

MeganJPerry · 27/01/2019 12:53

@erja, If in doubt, chicken out !

flummoxedlummox · 27/01/2019 12:54

Wouldn't it be rather small?

brizzledrizzle · 27/01/2019 12:58

Awww, flummoxed you beat me - I came on to say you wouldn't even get one meal out of it.

VampirateQueen · 27/01/2019 13:10

Yes. It will be fine. As long as it smells ok it will be fine.
