After a bad morning am I being unreasonable to wonder what this game is doing to some of our kids.
It is now deleted which was another hour of misery.

I’ve no issue with the game itself, it’s fun! Everything in moderation.

incywincybitofa · 26/01/2019 09:25

So what's moderation he is only on for an hour or so a day. Its mainly the social scrummage that causes problems here

What is it doing to your child?

User758172 · 26/01/2019 09:27

Sorry, I don’t understand what you mean by social scrummage?

LovingLola · 26/01/2019 09:27

No you’re not being unreasonable. Some children really struggle with self-regulation and emotional balance and the makers of this game prey on that
Google and you will find lots of info about it

Social scrummage?

Santacruz123 · 26/01/2019 22:47

Has anyone had problems with their child not sleeping well after playing it ? My friends son is not sleeping well and I wondered if there was a connection

Banned in our house. All parent warned by school the damaging effects it was having on pupil behaviour. Not all children have the self discipline to not become addicted to the game because of the way it rewards users. Then you have your battles to fight as a parent as it's difficult to close that door once it's opened. After first hand feedback from other parents, I have kept that door well and truly shut.
Your child. Your choice.

I really admire this. Where is there info online about this? I'm at a loss. I feel my 8yo is one of those without the self discipline etc etc etc. It is v upsetting.

Banned here too, and I'm pretty lenient with gaming! Have heard far too many horror stories about how addictive it can be.

Why is Fortnight any different to World of Warcraft 15 years ago? That was all the rage back then. Both of them are online games with chat facility etc.
