Sorry for any mishaps I'm high of this paint! 🤣

I bought a big tub of satin paint today for 'work' projects i usually get the fast dry but they had none left so I bought the One coat version (more expensive) because I thought 'oh well if it only needs one coat it doesn't matter if it takes hours to dry WRONG!!!! Im really un happy with the quality, it is NOT one coat and like it says takes 16 hours to dry so I cant even do multiple coats in one day 🙄 its been on the wood for 4 hours and it isn't even touch dry yet!! AIBU to take it back opened and ask for an exchange since it doesn't live up to the description ???

I would take it back, you've got nothing to lose unless the shop is too far away why wouldn't you?

reallybadidea · 26/01/2019 08:35

I would definitely take it back! Complain that's it not fit for its intended purpose.

YouCantTourniquetTheTaint · 26/01/2019 08:37

It depends what it ssays on the tin, is it wood paint? Does it say it needs an undercoat? Does it say how long it takes to be touch dry?

Whatsnewpussyhat · 26/01/2019 08:38

I've swapped unopened tins there. If it's a quality issue then take it back to customer service desk. If not as described they should give a refund. Usually pretty good there.

Onlyjoinedforthisthread · 26/01/2019 08:45

What colour are you painting over and with what colour, one coat white will not cover red for instance, one coat is generally for repainting in the same colour e.g. on ceilings. The drying rate depends very much on heat and humidity and can be much longer than the tin says

ibuiltahomeforyou · 26/01/2019 08:48

I've always found Wilko customer service to be great - and they pride themselves on the quality of the paint so would surely not want you to be unhappy with it.

BBnamechangex · 26/01/2019 13:18

Its satin white going on wood, says not need for undercoat and hardwearing both lies at this point

Fair enough, take it back as it's not fit for purpose.

PlsTryAnother · 26/01/2019 14:43

If its Wilko brand its covered by the wilko promise so you can return it for any reason.

BBnamechangex · 26/01/2019 14:58

@PlsTryAnother ah great I will take it back tomorrow and hopefully exchange it! Thanks

It says it takes 16-24 hours to dry- why are you expecting it to be dry in 4?
