To find the Malteaser advert to be bad taste?

Has anyone seen the Malteaser advert with the disabled woman?
She describes to her friends how she and a guy had been getting frisky when she suddenly had a spasm.
She then shakes the Malteaser bag obviously mimicking how she was giving the guy a hand job as she spasmed and proceeds to spill the contents of the bag which obviously alludes to the fact he 'finished'.
I don't know, the advert seems in bad taste somehow? Hmm

I don’t like the blatant handjob stuff either, OP. Don’t care who is acting it out. It’s in bad taste.

The sex reference makes me cringe. I feel the same when they reference sex in the Simpsons though. I think it is because DD7 then asks awkward questions.

I will take this ad over perfume ones any day.
How are you enraged at maltesers but not at that perfume ad where guys/women are peaking through the keyhole to catch a glimps of her/him undressing...
Which one of these sends worse signals to your young ones?

Bloody hellHmm
As I have said many times in my post thus is not about disability. I couldn't care less if disabled people have sex.
It is however as though the advertisement gets away with the wanking suggestion because the actress is disabled which is wrong and wouldn't be allowed otherwise I highly suspect.
Learn do jog on.
This isn't a zombie thread. I had no idea thus has already been discussed.

'I couldn't care less if disabled people have sex.'

Confused

Big of you.

tessiegirl · 25/01/2019 16:10

Just to add also Learn it isn't whether preschoolers or children would understand what is being alluded. It is the fact that a sexual act is being used to advertise chocolate during the day when kids could be watching. It is done in a secretive, sly and crude way in front of innocents. There's just no need for it.

Sorry wheeesht what was that comment for? No, I couldn't care less if disabled people have sex. Why would I?!
I'm a bit fed up with people thinking I must have a problem with disability!!! Confused

Are you sure it's on TV during the day?

AChickenCalledKorma · 25/01/2019 16:21

I wish I'd been a fly in the wall when they pitched this idea.

Who exactly was it that thought it would a great idea to create an association in people's mind between chocolate and semen? And why did the rest of the room not simply go "Ew, gross" and move on?

Wheeesht · 25/01/2019 16:25

Because they're marketing execs and they recognised it might be a successful campaign? Which, as they've been going a few years now, it seems to have been.

It clearly is fetishising disability, though, Struggling. The character's new boyfriend only got his orgasm because her hand went into spasm.
Scope might be ok with it, the actress was clearly ok with it otherwise she wouldn't have taken the job, but then again many people are ok with fetishising women's bodies in general.
It's an interesting one!

Aridane · 26/01/2019 11:53

Apparently it’s the most complained about advert- that’s saying something

Aridane · 26/01/2019 11:54

All I know is I'm now gonna Deliveroo the shit out of some Maltesers now as it's all I can think about!

Deliveroo deliver Maltese’s?!!

Aridane · 26/01/2019 11:55

Also, what woman willingly throws a newly opened packetfull of Maltesers over the floor? Not bloody likely

tillytrotter1 · 26/01/2019 22:27

Not this one but an earlier one where two young woment lifted their tops to embarrass a young male colleague was in very poor taste. Had it shown two men dropping their pants to a woman can you imagine the outrage?
