To find the Malteaser advert to be bad taste?

Has anyone seen the Malteaser advert with the disabled woman?
She describes to her friends how she and a guy had been getting frisky when she suddenly had a spasm.
She then shakes the Malteaser bag obviously mimicking how she was giving the guy a hand job as she spasmed and proceeds to spill the contents of the bag which obviously alludes to the fact he 'finished'.
I don't know, the advert seems in bad taste somehow? Hmm

Yes, it's still on. Just seen it twice I the space of half hour! My shock has absolutely nothing to do with disabled people having sex. Good for them!
As others have pointed out it's to do with bringing sex into a chocolate advert. Its a bit sleazy especially with it being shown during the day with kids watching.
I'm no prude.
If it was an able bodied actress I wonder what opinions would be?

Oh and yes we may be talking about it but it definitely wouldn't make me want to buy malteasers! Quite the opposite!!!

Yeah, it's the wanking gag that's weird in a TV ad, not disabled people.

Tenpenny · 24/01/2019 22:08

There's no way on earth it would have passed censors had been been an able bodied actress, @tessiegirl . Surely not, anyway

BoomBoomsCousin · 24/01/2019 22:11

Depends when and where the add is shown, really. Doesn’t sound any worse than that old flake add of the woman in the bath, but I thought that was really cheap. I am a bit tired of sex being brought into seemingly every bit of advertising.

The way you describe the Maltese’s one does sound a bit funny, but the sort of think I’d want to see once on a skit show my kids wouldn’t be watching, not something that comes four times a night in between family shows.

BoomBoomsCousin · 24/01/2019 22:11

*apologies for all the typos!

HildaZelda · 24/01/2019 22:15

Re: the ad with the two doctors. "You know that necklace you left at mine?".
Am I the ONLY one to hear it as "You know that knickers you left at mine?".

GlitterPixie · 24/01/2019 22:18

@HildaZelda I heard knickers too the first few times I saw it Grin

moofolk · 24/01/2019 22:21

I just looked it up because of this thread. Proper funny. I'm still chuckling on my own.

CoughLaughFart · 24/01/2019 22:23

I think if you clutch your pearls any harder, your necklaces will end up just like the one in the advert. Bloody hell, we all have sex.

I think the booby prize on this thread goes to the woman who’s happy to send her friends dick pics, but gets po-faced over a bit of innuendo in an advert 🙄

TheFatberg · 24/01/2019 22:24

YABU for spelling it incorrectly. It's Maltesers. Only one A.

Tenpenny · 24/01/2019 22:25

Its not what you'd expect/want in an advert for sweets during daytime though @CoughLaughFart , that's the thing

Strugglingtodomybest · 24/01/2019 22:25

I like it, it's no worse than the old flake ad.

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 24/01/2019 22:27

For me it's obviously not that she's disabled.

It's just that whole wanking part is just a bit Hmm too much for a packet of Maltesers. And I'm no prude.

Tenpenny · 24/01/2019 22:28

Its completely different to the old Flake ad ! I'm aware I'm posting on this thread far too muchGrin

bibbitybobbityyhat · 24/01/2019 22:30

Yanbu. It's crude and should only be on after the watershed. Perhaps it is? I remember the previous thread about it years ago ... it was epic! One of my favourites ever.

Aridane · 24/01/2019 22:32

That Flake advert was truly iconic!!

Aridane · 24/01/2019 22:32

(the epitome of tastefulness compared with the Malteser hand job)

VinnythePanda · 24/01/2019 22:33

My only problem with it is that it’s been running for approximately 50 years and I’m bored to the back teeth with it

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 24/01/2019 22:33

And as advertisements go it's not made me want to reach for the Maltesers or a cock. So that's a fail. WinkGrin

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 24/01/2019 22:34

I don’t like it at all either, disabled actress or non disabled that’s not the issue, hand jobs as an advert for Maltesers is just grim, I wonder if people would have no issue with it if it was a man describing giving a woman the equivalent? Don’t care if that makes me a prude, I’ll own it.

Tenpenny · 24/01/2019 22:34

Flake ad was beautifully shot, lovely music etc. Cant be compared to a woman doing the wanking gesture and using choc sweets as cum Grin

LegallyBrunet · 24/01/2019 22:37

Thank you @AnnaFender! You’ve just perfectly explained why I bloody hate those adverts; I couldn’t really articulate it until I read your comment

Menarefrommarsitwouldseem · 24/01/2019 22:39

Ooo a penis that could ejaculate chocolate. Now there's a thought. One can wish.

garethsouthgatesmrs · 24/01/2019 22:39

maltesers chocolate is fairtrade and they have clearly made an active decision to employ disabled actors in their advertising and show that disabled people lead normal lives and have normal sex lives. It's good to see a company with a social conscience.

I Didn't see anyone complaining about the sexual connotations of the diet coke break ads in the nineties (granted i was a child and there was no mumsnet so perhaps I should have watched points of view)
