To be a bit spooked

I'm a very cynical person but I don't know how to explain this.

Today I walked past a very distinct looking homeless man. He was wrapped up in several layers/blankets etc with various bits around him. I don't give beggers money but I did offer to get him some food and a hot drink. I had trouble understanding his very strong scottish accent. We are nowhere near Scotland. He only wanted a tea so I went to the cafe that was almost next to him. It was a teabag thrown in a polystyrene cup job so I was in there literally a minute. I came back out to find he had vanished. As in, no trace he'd even been there. All his bags and blankets etc were all gone.

I felt a bit foolish and cross (and in awe of how quickly he could pack up) but never mind.

When I got home a few hours later I looked on the local news website. It had a picture of him saying he'd moved from Perth a few months ago. It also said he had died... 3 weeks ago.

Confused

Oh God, no way!

My aunt lived in a flat years ago and whenever she left her shoes out, by the morning they would be tidied away in the bottom of her wardrobe.

Any washing up left in the drying rack in the morning (breakfast plate) would also be put away by the time she was back from work.

She lived alone.

Reaa · 24/01/2019 18:18

Yes I would be spooked too

UrsulaPandress · 24/01/2019 18:19

😱

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 24/01/2019 18:20

Bloody hell.....I'd be spooked as well

icylakes · 24/01/2019 18:20

Wow! Have you picked up on past events linked to a place like this before? It could be a different person, though...

Fightingfit2019 · 24/01/2019 18:21

😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱😱

TheShoeBoxDiva · 24/01/2019 18:21

@AllSuits - I could totally get on board with that sort of haunting. Grin

I'm desperately trying to find some explanation like a twin brother or something (the article didn't mention one).

@theshoebox that’s given me shivers!

@allsuits I wish I could find a ghost or magic fairy to do my housework for me!!

HollowTalk · 24/01/2019 18:21

I would ask the cafe if they had a CCTV camera. It would drive me nuts otherwise!

TheQueef · 24/01/2019 18:22

Blimey. Ever seen him before?

StealthPolarBear · 24/01/2019 18:22

I was just going to ask if he had a twin. Tbh I think a ghost is more likely. Poor man

Aprilshowersarecomingsoon · 24/01/2019 18:22

My ndn came to say goodbye the night before we moved. Wearing his bikers leathers.
He had died 9 months previously.

OnBail · 24/01/2019 18:23

Ooh that’s spooky, very strange.

Deadbudgie · 24/01/2019 18:23

Omg! Maybe he was waiting to be shown an act of kindness before moving on

halfwitpicker · 24/01/2019 18:23

Crikey, spooky days

mytieisascarf · 24/01/2019 18:23

I want a ghost who does my housework. 👻

But seriously, you may have heard about it on the radio or telly and have absorbed the details subconsciously???

PattiStanger · 24/01/2019 18:23

The report may just be wrong, ask on your local facebook page if anyone has seen him recently

Pk37 · 24/01/2019 18:24

How weird!

huggybear · 24/01/2019 18:25

The most obvious solution is the article is wrong, surely....?

dustarr73 · 24/01/2019 18:25

Wow,thats spooky.Did you not get any vibes off him.Did he look different in some way.

AllSuits · 24/01/2019 18:26

I know! What an ideal haunting!

My aunt said she finally saw her helpful ghost just before she moved out - a short, grey-haired elderly lady dressed very well, who was smiling and had a lovely aura of feeling around her.

My mum stayed with my aunt one weekend - she said it was such a welcoming flat (and mum's shoes got tidied up as well).

I'm super, super cynical and I wouldn't believe 99% of stories out there, there are usually explainations, but when it's a first-hand account or it happens to you, it is spooky.

Theunreasonableone · 24/01/2019 18:27

OMG Op that is bananas. Also the biker ndn 😱 how did he appear to you April?

Stoppedat1 · 24/01/2019 18:27

I'm not woo at all but this gave me goosebumps!

WeareStardustWeareGolden · 24/01/2019 18:31

I had something similar a few years ago Op. Our local Tesco had an old boy who used to round up all the trolleys and put them back in their trolley station. He always used to wave at us and say "mind how you go". He worked there years. In the local paper one week we read that he had died. My husband pointed it out to me. A few months later we went to do our usual shop and there he was wheeling his trolleys and saying "mind how you go". We looked at each other and said....but I thought he had died? We never saw him again...

CuriousMama · 24/01/2019 18:32

Aw so sad.

I totally believe all of you. I've had many amazing experiences.
