So I've got the raging itch, redness, dry as hell

I'm 42, always had dry skin, BUT I use .. oilatum to wash with, a steroid to keep it calm and then dermacare

How can my knee look this old????????

Hello, OP! I know, really unhelpful but you seem to have a lovely figure.

I actually don't think your knee looks old or dry, it may actually be cellulite, or this is how it looks from here....

I see what you mean re redness but it definitely seems a normal knee from the picture.

You’re crossing your legs, over forty your skin does that. Even Elle MacPherson’s does and she’s most self-obsessed sleb out there.
I’ve had very dry skin. Things that helped:

  1. not wearing synthetic clothes and especially tights.
  2. water and I found fermenting my own kombucha helped
  3. greens
  4. stopped using mineral oil creams and showers.
  5. exfoliate with a Turkish hammam fabric glove occasionally and then use rich creams topped with oil. Many times, I use an exfoliating aha body cream. Sounds counterproductive but the exfoliating gets rid of the dry bits while allowing for creams to soften.
  6. Epsom salt warming baths. Hot bath makes it worst.
  7. well ventilated home with water on radiators.

Have a look at the Moogoo website. Fantastic, natural products. I swear by them 👍

My DD cannot use anything with SLS in it
If she does it makes all her skin red itchy raised and peeling

Simply having air to you skin helps. Its cold now but in summer embrace shorts. Moisturise with spf and drink plenty of water.
