I forgot my ds water bottle in school.I saw the teaching assistant next day who told me she had found it and assured me she would wash it out and replace water. She didn't do this and ds came home with same water ,I knew because I'd put a little lemon in with his water.Just feel let down and like she thought who cares she won't know but because of the lemon I do.Would this concern you?

Being a TA myself I can honestly say that most days I'm so insanely busy that I don't even have time to pee, let alone wash out a bottle of water! It would have been an honest 'slipped her mind' scenario & without being grim, drinking day old water from a sealed bottle will probably have been the cleanest, most hygienic thing your child came into contact with during his day at school!!

I second this- with bells on!!!!!!

Have you ever watched a class of Reception children sitting on the carpet at hometime? All sat there playing with the soles of their shoes (no way did they all look what they were standing in all the way to school), sticking their fingers up their noses, having a good scratch down the back of their pants, then sticking their fingers in their mouths?

Trust me, day old water is the least disgusting thing he ingested all day. Even the most diligent at handwashing after the loo will be touching everything that the less diligent ones touch. And they all nose pick, suck fingers and so on.

Let it go. I've accidentally forgotten to rinse and refill DS's bottle once or twice. He was fine.
