Babies, bedrooms

Hi I posted previously but I am expecting twins. Me and boyfriend live in a 4 bed house - after a lot of talking etc we were debating whether it might be worth having the spare room as a second sleeping with a baby location.

Neither of us have kids, but the logic is if we have one sick baby one of us stays with them and the other goes with the other baby in the spare room - or even maybe doing it more often if two babies crying becomes a hard.

Does anyone else have experience of this sort of thing? Or is it just an all round stupid idea. We are planning on trying to get them onto the same schedule but live in hope as to how well this will work....

Great idea. I'd have a nursery, a guest room/play room later and your bedroom and a second bedroom ready in case you need to split up one night and have a baby each in a room in a moses basket etc. Great idea. Or one of you getting sleep in your bedroom and the other with the babies in another bedroom. You're lucky to have so much space use it well!

There is the master and then two big bedrooms, and a smaller one. We are planning on going for a nursery in 1 big one and keeping the spare room in the other big one. But don't know if to put the nursery in the smaller but all up in the air because don't know if they will share when they're bigger or we'll move.

Safe to say pregnancy is making me house/organisation crazy.

Do it. Having a bed in a spare room is priceless. We did with just one baby just so we could have an occasional undisturbed night sleep whilst the other stayed with baby.

I think having space for a Moses basket in your spare room is such a good idea.

My experience with any number of babies is the more bed options, the better!

We have a sofa bed in her room and a cot bed in that room and a slightly smaller cot in our bedroom. She mostly sleeps in her room now but it means we can whisk her in with us if we have guests and also that everyone has a choice of rooms!

Definitely a good idea!

Yes! We still play musical beds here and DCs are 7&4. Sometimes they both come into our bed and one or both of us adults decamp.

Or if I e of them is sick but not too sick they might come into our bed so the caring adult has a better night sleep.
