To be worried about this

Only two weeks into new job and had an email round to say company had been bought by another.

Would you be worried about redundancy? Our team is quite small and busy but still I'm so new I'm worried

Not necessarily but with such short service you could be let go regardless.

That's what worries me. Don't know if I should ask to check if I should start looking incase as can't afford to be let go really.

Work seem happy with everything so far and I'm not the only new one as we have been bought in to cover for people who have left so not like we were extra.

There’s no way to tell what will happen. Realistically you can be let go without reason for the next two years. In your shoes I would be keeping a daily eye on job pages and be prepared to apply for some.
