To think this hotel toilet is hilariously insane?

Just spent 5 minutes, literally, trying to flush it. Turns out there's a manual lever for that, which happens to be hidden behind a towel.

Apart from flushing, it seems to be capable of pretty much anything imaginable and I suspect it may have a PhD. Or require the operator of it to obtain one. Grin

I'd be a bit worried that it's going to electrocute you if it gets splashed!

Saisong · 22/01/2019 20:18

Are you in Japan?

TakenForSlanted · 22/01/2019 20:18

Yeah, I saw that, too. It's a bit Confused as far as toilets are concerned. I mean, how precisely is one meant to prevent them from splashing?

"Read manual (operating instructions) before using this appliance".
Whilst starting to read page 15 I'm standing in a pool of piss and by page 20 I've shat myself.

TakenForSlanted · 22/01/2019 20:19

And, no, this is good old Germany.

I wouldn't wonder if it were Japan. But, come one Krauts, whatever happened to good old Villeroy and Boch? Grin

Normally love trips to Germany in the grounds that they're refreshingly sensible on average.

Not this time around, it seems.

This appliance must be GROUNDED I presume they mean "earthed". Interesting how different in meaning two apparent synonyms can be.

TakenForSlanted · 22/01/2019 20:24

I'd ground it for utter silliness if I could.

Not sure I get to play the parent to a hotel toilet, mind. Grin

I’d have bet Tokyo too.

I always boggle at the logistics of standing on the seat.

ShutUpPeppa · 22/01/2019 20:28

Those buttons can’t be that clean...

DustyMcDustbuster · 22/01/2019 20:36

Slightly off-topic - my dad moved into a new build house in the 80s & I burnt my fanny on the bidet.

TakenForSlanted · 22/01/2019 20:37

ShutUpPeppa, I think I'll worry about that once I've put my mind at ease over the possibility of evil genius toilet getting out of the bathroom and coming to kill me in my sleep... Confused

But, point taken. They're arguably not - especially since you're apparently not meant to use cleaning products on evil genius toilet.

I used to live in Japan. I desperately miss these toilets. I had one at home.

Exploring · 22/01/2019 20:40

What does the kids button do?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 22/01/2019 20:40

What does the “kids” button do? Confused

Also, one button says cleaning, another says bidet. Isn’t that the same function?

ILoveMaxiBondi · 22/01/2019 20:40

Xpost exploring!

TakenForSlanted · 22/01/2019 20:41

What's the charm of them, hapa?

I've got some 7 hours at this place, at least 4 of which I will need to sleep.

This should leave me with 3 hours to make the most out of the insane toilet.

Room has no minibar, so the toilet can have my undivided solo business trip and bored attention.

OP posts:
TakenForSlanted · 22/01/2019 20:42

The kids button seems to cause water to gently squirt around the base.

Im not getting it.

Does it play any music? Some in Japan do. They are silly about the noise of peeing there.

Honeyroar · 22/01/2019 20:44

Japanese toilets scare me. You never quite know whether you're going to get squirted or something as you're never quite sure what you've pressed!

BlackCatSleeping · 22/01/2019 20:44

Sometimes people that are used to squat toilets try to squat on the seat. I mean put their feet on the seat and squat over the hole. It makes such a mess, but a lot of toilets in Asia have warning signs not to squat on them.

feebeecat · 22/01/2019 20:45

Jesus that looks complicated. I'd have to hang on until I got home. And I know dh would kick the thing and electrocute us all. Shock

EnoughSnowAlready · 22/01/2019 20:45

The best toilets I've used were in Germany. They were pretty standard in regards to using them but when you flushed they cleaned themselves, brushes and sprays appeared and the lid rotated so that it was cleaned inside and out. They were genius. This one looks like a nightmare though. I'd be too scared about breaking it to use it.

SagelyNodding · 22/01/2019 20:46

I look after a lovely villa which has one of those, but with a remote control for ass washing and drying etc! The seat is lovely and heated! It also has a coloured led light (point???) Not a product I would buy though!

Houseonahill · 22/01/2019 20:46

A toilet that blow dried your bajingo! That's amazing 😂😂
