Aibu to think it’s rude when parents don’t respond to party invites?

Recent party invites to whole of reception class and only approx 1/3 responded, paper invites were sent out by teacher and a follow up in group chat a few weeks later.
I just think it’s a bit naff of the parent not to respond at all.
If you are a non responder to party invites then why do you not ?

It's rude not to reply. I learnt and started putting a date on otherwise no place would be booked. Those that didn't bother replying didn't get further invites.

I always reply but it often takes me a while usually because they leave the invitation in their bags for about a week and it's only when somebody else mentions the party so I ask for the invite that I actually have the details to RSVP

I’m guilty of this and trying to improve. I’ll always make a note of the date and commit to going, buy a present etc. But sometimes I forget to text until two days before. This drives me mental when people do it to me, so I’m trying not to do it!

This annoys me too, but sometimes people do genuinely forget. I have no problem with following up with a personal text or email (rather than a general WhatsApp) chasing up. Except one child in DD's class who, I've learnt, never replies or turns up so I've stopped bothering.

Very annoying. Recently I sent out invites a month before the party with a deadline date. 1/3 replied straightaway. The rest hadn’t got the invites so replied a week later after I chased them up. One person decides to reply 3 days before the party, when it was too late. I’d messaged them 3 weeks earlier so no excuse. Had to say no to them.

Dd’s Party last November I messaged a woman to confirm if her child could come, and she replied she hadn’t received an invite. So I messaged her one and she read it and didn’t reply. Bitch.

Then Dc1’s party also last November, she invites 6 close friends. I go to a lot of trouble to make personalised things. 5 days before one of her friends casually tells her she can’t come anymore because she’s going to an event with her parents instead. She will be gone all day. That one really pissed me off. You don’t go somewhere with a better offer all of a sudden if you’ve accepted an invite. If they’d told us earlier dd could’ve invited another friend instead. Really shitty behaviour.
