Either the day you got together or the day you got married.

Do you do/give anything for it?

OP posts:
Confusedbeetle · 22/01/2019 15:28

Nope, except for Silver wedding and Ruby wedding

Onlyjoinedforthisthread · 22/01/2019 15:28

Only give cards, no presents, we might go for a meal though.

Did give present 1st yr and ending in zeros

Theknacktoflying · 22/01/2019 15:30

The day we got married in the church (different to our marriage certificate)
We usually stop arguing Grin and ‘nagging’ for the day ...

TeenTimesTwo · 22/01/2019 15:31

We do cards. Used to go out for a meal pre-DC. We don't do presents. Might when we get to 25 I guess.

PlainSpeakingStraightTalking · 22/01/2019 15:32

No, DH always sends a card, I dont bother Grin not even for 25th, might go for a meal but generally dont bother

WFTisgoingoninmyhead · 22/01/2019 15:32

We have never given presents or cards, my DH did buy me a gift on our silver. We always go out somewhere or away somewhere though, I would like to do something next year for our Pearl (30) wedding anniversary though. I will have to organise that!!

RiverTam · 22/01/2019 15:32

not ordinarily but DH bought me an eternity ring for our 5th wedding anniversary which was extraordinarily romantic and sentimental of him!

VanillaSauce · 22/01/2019 15:37

Every year I forget the exact date, but I remember it was the same day at Kate & Wills wedding so I have to look it up on Wikipedia. No we don't really celebrate it.

Shoxfordian · 22/01/2019 15:42

Yes we do cards and a nice dinner out somewhere

thedevilinablackdress · 22/01/2019 15:44

Generally celebrate (i.e. remember) our getting together date more than our wedding date. No gifts or cards tho. Maybe go out for a drink.

newnameforthis7 · 22/01/2019 15:44

Always have, for 30 years. Only spend a £10-£15 or so, and a card.

I know some women whose husbands have never given them even a card. They are not happy about it.

newnameforthis7 · 22/01/2019 15:44

We always go out for a meal too.

MeOldChina · 22/01/2019 15:45

We like to go for a meal or maybe a weekend away if we could afford it.

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 22/01/2019 15:45

We're not married but we can never agree when our anniversary is. I say one day, he says the day after. And then we never remember about it until about a month later.

HirplesWithHaggis · 22/01/2019 15:46

I think we paid more attention to our wedding anniversary when we were younger - we threw a party for our fifth, but don't really do much thirty years later. Maybe a nice meal. I suppose we should plan something for 2024, though.

Chinks123 · 22/01/2019 15:46

Yes we give cards and a gift each, then usually either a nice meal/cinema/ or just a candlelit dinner at home with no tv or phones. It’s lovely.

newnameforthis7 · 22/01/2019 15:47

Oh and we go on a nice holiday for 'special' ones.

GoldenSyrupLion · 22/01/2019 15:49

We usually forget until we get a card in the post from my parents.

Lauren83 · 22/01/2019 15:49

Not married so don't do anything although we usually acknowledge it in conversation on the day, having a c section this year on the day we met so

Nothininmenoggin · 22/01/2019 15:49

Exchange cards and a meal out.

LittleScottieDog · 22/01/2019 15:50

I got flowers for our first anniversary. I'm impressed DH remembered and actually did something about it! I'm not expecting that every year though...

DorisDances · 22/01/2019 16:11

A colleague agreed to marry on condition that her husband buy her a white rose for each year they have been married on their anniversary!

stegosauruslady · 22/01/2019 16:13

We do a nice meal out, get a bit drunk and silly and have a competition over who can post the soppiest facebook status. He won last year, I won this year!

leaveby10 · 22/01/2019 16:15

No nothing, often go out for dinner or cook something special at home.

Ragwort · 22/01/2019 16:16

Cards & DH always buys me a bouquet.

We usually have a meal out or special meal at home to celebrate, married 30 (long) years Grin.
