runs into our bedroom at 6am in the morning and starts poking, patting and shouting at DH until he wakes up and acknowledges her, even though he is currently on late shifts and needs a lie in?

I suspect DH thinks I am but she asks for Dada the second I lift her from the cot and I don't like to refuse my PFB.....

xenia - DS2 is 20 months old. He's been like this since just before his 1st birthday. Goes to bed 7-7.30 and is awake 5 - 5.30.

We've tried everything - later bedtime just results in same waking time plus overtiredness the next day.

We are just hoping he'll grow out of it!

No, I don't, it's fine

7am is a lie in our house!

AH, huge difference between 20 months and 8 years then and even bigger difference from my student son who wakes at lunch time in the holidays. It's very hard to get small children to sleep in. The other day my brother was up from 4am to 6am with his two toddlers and then off to work. You just have to grit your teeth and endure.

LOLOLOL at 7 am being an early riser

It's not often that this happens but I have an answer as to whether IABU!

I asked DH if I was and he said that he loved being woken up by his daughter being so happy to see him, and it's not as if he has to get up and start the day so he would be upset if I didn't let her do it!

Vindicated!
