To ask what you pay per month for childcare?

Currently a SAHM. I have a toddler and a second baby on the way. I'm currently in the bracket of people for whom childcare costs here (in london) would outweigh my own current earning potential, I'm unskilled.

Prior to having DS I worked full time as a cleaner, my monthly take home averaged at £1300pcm. My rent is £1000pcm, then there are bills and food.

I've been quoted around £1000pcm full time childcare for DS alone.

How much cheaper is childcare outside of the SE? What do you pay, per child per month?

Isle of Man - £50 a day. Soon to be £28 a day when DS turns 2.

£68 per day/child. We've two in ft nursery. My nursery bill is significantly higher the mortgage. Good job they both love going!

DD finished nursery 2 years ago, but I was paying about £600 for a 4 day week. I realise from reading this how cheap it was. With child care vouchers and her 15 hours free it was normally around £350 extra in term times.

It was a lovely nursery too.

£40 (under 3) £37.5 (over 3) per day central Scotland for a childminder 8am - 6pm meals not included. Nurseries more expensive in my area.

Nursery here (East Mids) is between £45-£60 a day, depending on location. In Leicester it is £60, further out it is cheaper.
Childminder £4-£5 p/h, so for 10hrs is similar to nursery.

If I use full time nursery it’ll be £1084-£1149 pcm before tax free childcare (which will be about £166pcm I think).

It’s not cheap, but only for 2 years, then the free hours will kick in and reduce it.
