at b&q discontinuing paint range

It's been discontinued as of 1st Jan 2019 this year and I'm so annoyed because they had some really nice colours in their b&q colours range. Also it wasn't talked about by any staff to me, and I'm in there every weekend! What happens to the old stock? It took up like 2 big aisles!

I also painted all my hallways in grey hints, and I can't touch up now.

I know they're trying to push their valspar range but I hated it.

I feel like I'm forced to pay extra for Dulux now.

Urgh.
I agree.
Just moved house and picked lots of colours from their old range to find they don't exist anymore and nothing even close in their new range. And they only have about 3 colours in their new substitute, they have the GoodHome range in my store which is essentially their own new brand ones.
I'm not happy, the paint is more expensive and the colours are shite.
I did manage to get some of the range discounted before they got rid, something like £8 for 2.5L instead of £12.
I didn't think anybody else cared but it's annoyed me too.

I'm not surprised. We bought their paint earlier this year and the quality was appalling. When we took it back they weren't even surprised.

Valspar had a problem with some paints that caused a terrible stink for months

Whatsnewpussyhat · 20/01/2019 15:21

Oh no. I chose a colour for bedroom that's now ready to be painted. Gutted. I liked their range. Valspar is shite.

Guess I'll be off to Homebase then to get it mixed into a dulux base. ££££ Sad

Maybe you bought them out Grin

P.S - We get our Dulux in B&M when the offer is cheaper than B&Qs offer.

yy558 · 20/01/2019 15:25

We used valspar once and we needed MULTIPLE coats to cover a light colour. It cost us £60 for that one room. And then more to redo it in crown/Dulux.

Never again.

I quite like the b&q range..I didn't have a problem with it, that being said..it does gloop up alot easier though so usually water it down.

I looked at the new range - there are minimal colours to choose from. I quite like the homebase own brand ones too but given the state of the company, I'm not confident about how long I'll be able to keep getting the paints for lol.
