My husband took DD (6) and DS (10) to his mums yesterday. It's a 40min drive away. At 8-9ish his dad and sister started with D&V. Kids still up at this point.
Would you have stayed over as planned, or driven home?
I know AIBU by being annoyed with him for choosing to stay, but I DREAD getting sick!
(I'm away with work for the weekend)

Not much point coming home once they'd already been in contact with the terms surely?

Better for them to stay if you dread getting sick? By the evening they’ll already have been in contact with the bug all day, leaving would just bring it home. Make them stay there longer!

I know, that's what he said! But... my instinct would have been to escape! And I don't trust him at all to have made sure the he and they kids did really good handwashing etcEnvy

You don’t trust him to wash their hands?!

Tiredeyes with my kids, frankly, no I don't. Believe me I try my absolute hardest so it isn't neglectful parenting. My DH, otoh, is far less likely to check Angry

I would have brought them straight home! Especially if they're sharing a bathroom. Most D&V bugs spread by inhaling microscopic particles of vomit/faeces in the air (when a toilet is flushed it can spray these several metres) or touching an infected surface then touching your face/food. It's unusual to catch it before a person has symptoms, unless you kiss them or share cutlery/cups.
