To ask how do you get a reluctant teen to the dentist?

DD1 is 13. She went for regular check ups from an early age. She had a filling on one occasion. Was slightly worried before, but doesn't remember it being awful.

At one check up the dentist said she would be watching one tooth, as another filling may be needed. DD has not been back to the dentist since. I've had conveniently forgotten after school clubs, flat out refusal and promises that she will go soon.

She is 2 inches taller than me and the same size. I can wear her jeans. So physically carrying her there is not an option. Any ideas or do I give up? I have explained how awful tooth aches are and offered to try a new dentist.

ds is adamant that the dentist is a waste of time and protests loudly, has done since about your dds age.

I remove phone.
No dentist no phone, and no x-box either, until he has been.

He screams and shouts (at me) but he goes.

Show her pictures of disgusting teeth on the internet?

What advice has the dentist given about how to get her to go for checkups?

I always take the kids for a treat afterwards. They know that so always come without a fight.
