Is it worth my ex seeing DS for this amount of time.

I have DS 7 with my ex. He either has him for 3 hours during the day the weekend or occasionally overnight. When he has him overnight he picks him up at 7pm, DS is usually asleep by 8 there. He’s then gets up there, has breakfast, a quick play then is home by 10-11.

Not sure it’s really bloody worth it?

Is it unreasonable to to ask the ex to pick
him up an hour or two early?? Sometimes the ex will pick Him and DS a take away but the truth is DS is ready bloody starving by 7pm, as we normally have dinner at 4-5pm, so are we because we don’t want to eat food without DS having any!!

Today I texted him to say, if he can’t pick him earlier I will cook him tea so don’t plan take away and I cooked!! He got all funny as he planned take away. So why not pick him up earlier??

Re the dinner, mine usually eat later at the weekend and they have some fruit and biscuits at their normal tea time to keep them going.

Is there a reason he doesn’t have him for longer? Shift work or something?

Thanks, he does usually have a snack if he’s having take away with his dad. DS has additional needs and routine is important, so we do really struggle with him waiting for dinner and he gets hungry. the ex doesn’t seem to understand this. I need a chat with the ex to tell him I’ll be cooking dinner and he can forget the take away.

He works Monday - Friday so no excuse really. Not sure what he gets up to be so busy all the time and always late... 🤔
