Foil lined crisp packets

AIBU to wonder what to do with foil-lined crisp packets? Since we decided to save them, they are building up quickly (I have to admit shamefully), but what is the best way of recycling them? What does everyone else do?

Bin them, and don't really give a shit.

DragonSnaps · 19/01/2019 16:43

I don't think they can be recycled

SpoonBlender · 19/01/2019 16:44

Metallised plastic is not recyclable.

Why on earth did you decide to save them? All you can do with them is landfill, unless you want to sew them into salt'n'vinegar'n'prawn'n'cheese flavour insulating sheets.

If you can't recycle them, then you have to bin them unless your ambition is to live in a hoarders house that would be worthy of a documentary.

Our localbprimary schools all recycle them, they allow any packets to be recycled through them so maybe something similar in your area? Hopefully more places will setuo crisp packet recycling it makes so much sense

Someone my mum knows has found somewhere which will recycle crisp packets. To be fair, I wasn't told if it was a particular kind. I'll have to ask her.
