DD is 13 and pescaterian (eats fish not meat) She will not eat quorn or other meat substitutes. She will not eat anything spicy, anything with mushrooms, peas or aubergines or celery

DP has bad indigestion (no one is sure why) he will not eat anything with dairy or spice or pulses Confused after 6pm. He also hates eggs and dislikes most veg (though he's ok about that just leaves them off the plate if he dosent like them) He would "prefer to have a plain meal with meat"

DS is 6 and thankfully mainly non fussy but not overly keen on spice.

I just want to f*ck of BY MYSELF (or maybe with DS) to some kind of posh restaurant for an interesting fancy starter followed steak, chips and all the trimmings and then by something creamy and indulgent and leave them a box of lettuce and tomatoes, a loaf of bread, some oil, vinegar and a note telling them to sort themselves out.

AIBU? Well am I?

YANBU.

That sounds hideous!

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 18/01/2019 15:48

Of course not. Why are you cooking for everyone all the time anyway?

Your 13 year old daughter is old enough to make her own meals if she's that fussy.

And am also assuming your DP is an adult with eyes and arms and hands. What's stopping him from cooking?

Yanbu.
Tbh, regardless of how the chores are divided up in your house, and even if one of your roles is shopping and cooking; I still wouldn't accommodate all this. One meal per night, if dh wants to cook something different for himself, that's up to him. We alternate fish/meat/veggie in this house anyway (ish), so two thirds of the time you'd be accommodating dd and the other time she can cook for herself.

Can you all sit down and agree on meals you all like?

For example a roast chicken and veg with cheese and bread. DH gets his meat and veg and DD gets veg, bread and cheese. You and DS eat all of it.

If they don’t like it then tough shit.
