To think this wedding dress is a bit... much?

Idly browsing wedding dresses (not planning on getting married anytime soon) and came across this one in Pronovias 2019.

AIBU to think you don't want your actual muff on show on your wedding. I'm no prude but... really?

Anyone else seen some shockers?

Billball your second one really benefits from the furry gusset. I don't think you can get much classier than that.

The third one looks like the model just sneezed into a bottle of talcum powder. Where is her face? Confused

TaliZorahVasNormandy I love that the blokes outfits are painted on! The girls are actually overdressed in comparison!

Playmysong · 19/01/2019 17:49

People get paid to design these???
Nevermorelenore, think that one is the worst.
You say that they are supposed to be eye catching and promote the brand?? Certainly eye catching, but not in a good way and if that’s supposed to PROMOTE the brand, think I would give brand a miss.

very special collection

OhGoshNearlyForty · 19/01/2019 18:01

A bit 'much'? Surely you mean you not enough Wink

CSIblonde · 19/01/2019 18:04

Tacky. Needs lining. Why does modern couture persist in promoting the idea that see thru & showing everything is sexy. A bit of mystery is far more sexy. If you watch Say yes to the Dress, every bride who tries on the see thru lacey basque dresses asks for it to be lined.

TrendyNorthLondonTeen · 19/01/2019 18:18

Wedding dress troll!! Not seen you for a while!

Grumpelstilskin · 19/01/2019 19:07

Actually, this is a truly beautiful dress shown on page 2 of this thread if worn with a simplesilk bias cut slip underneath. As others said, many of the delicate dresses are shown without slip to highlight the delicate details.

Lmcd18 · 19/01/2019 19:08

It is actually a lovely dress but definitely needs a slip under it

Jpgs · 19/01/2019 19:09

Oh dear, funny really that she’s even got a muff they usually razor/wax/laser off every bit of hair under some misguided sense of grooming.......I know it’s dangerous to remove it all, so wea4 some skin colored knickers!

brizzledrizzle · 19/01/2019 19:10

I'd love to be a fly on the wall if a bride turned up wearing that at a church wedding.

It's lovely until the bride throws her bouquet. You could show your prospective in-laws the dress and you'd probably never see them again - MIL problem solved in one fell swoop Grin

MsFortunaMajor · 19/01/2019 19:14

It reminds me of dresses designed by Pnina Tournai on Say Yes To The Dress. Whenever a bride-to-be chooses one of Pnina's dresses it makes me chuckle. They go into the shop to find a traditional dress and somehow end up choosing one with revealing cut outs, corset boning with no lining, etc. So stylish Grin

anniehm · 19/01/2019 19:22

Whilst most of these are just to get the brand noticed, if you watch the American bridal shows (dd loves them) people but stuff pretty close to them for thousands of dollars. Crazy.

2WW anyone? I am on day 6 of a five embryo transfer. My little blastocyst was hatching when they put it in. I had had no symptoms aside from the sore bum from the progesterone shots. Has anyone had a big fat positive pregnancy from such a situation? Thank you

SilverySurfer · 19/01/2019 19:55

I've seen some pretty hideous sights on Say Yes To The Dress but those on Pinterest are shockingly bad.

It just reinforces my long held belief that many designers hate women.

Ravenesque · 19/01/2019 20:19

@anniehm, I don't get those shows on my TV, but when a friend is away and I look after her cat, I binge watch them like a demon. Virtually every dress is so blah, they're mad expensive and once in a hundred dresses I think "Now that one I like!". The bridesmaids ones are almost better because the fights over which tacky piece of shit they want to wear are brilliant.

Ravenesque · 19/01/2019 20:24

The one at the bottom of the first page is utterly lovely. I think that some of these dresses would look gorgeous on a bride with slim, almost boobless body with the right underneath wear, be it a slip or glorious underwear. I like looking at them, but my god if I wore one it would scare the children, the animals, the elderly and possibly cause actual death for anyone with heart problems.

Obviously some of the dresses in this thread are an abomination and if I saw a bride walking into the church in one of them, I'd have to go outside and pull myself together before I pissed myself laughing.

Speaking of "off the wall" 😂

@LellyMcKelly your comment wins by far Grin

Athena18 · 19/01/2019 22:17

So I was about to post ‘I bet at least one person thinks it’s ok but I was beaten to it.’
Oh dear dear!

sleepylittlebunnies · 19/01/2019 22:45

The first few are quite beautiful with all the intricate detail. With the right figure and a slip under they’d look gorgeous. Personally I’d only wear one for my wedding night.

manicmij · 19/01/2019 22:56

No, no,no. Should not be worn in public by any bride.

RaisinRainbow · 19/01/2019 23:05

crabbity Aside the obvious, that's quite a lovely dress.

For contrast, here's a typical gown from the 1920s
