To think this wedding dress is a bit... much?

Idly browsing wedding dresses (not planning on getting married anytime soon) and came across this one in Pronovias 2019.

AIBU to think you don't want your actual muff on show on your wedding. I'm no prude but... really?

Anyone else seen some shockers?

BejamNostalgia
Remember that so well. There were lots of raised eyebrows about her ensemble, and the priest who performed the ceremony, trying to balance the naysaying, said in response that she had worn her sincerity.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 18/01/2019 02:42

I imagine that the women who would wear dresses like those wouldn't have any muff as such - they'd be clean-waxed so it would just all be skin.

That one Mary Charteris is wearing though - the shape of the dress makes her look deformed, as though her legs are 2/3 the length they should be.

Monty27 · 18/01/2019 04:40

These must be wedding magazine shots and not real life. You would then work out what to wear underneath?

Mercurial123 · 18/01/2019 04:49

Agree with everyone else this is just for the fashion show, it will be lined when it goes into production (hopefully). Sex sells and it will get the designer headlines just like most other high end fashion shows. Some of those dresses are beautiful.

You can’t beat a nice knitted wedding dress. Fanjo modesty preserved.

I wanted to wear this fabulous little tulle mini skirt wedding dress when I was getting married in 1991. My mother was horrified but said if I cleared it with the Reverend, she would buy it. He said no. I still feel sad about it.

burritofan · 18/01/2019 05:13

I like that one, @LellyMcKelly – it's like a nice fancy tampon Grin

EverythingHappensForARiesling · 18/01/2019 08:05

I suspect that they’re modelled that way so we can see the lace and embroidery detailing; it would be nigh on impossible to distinguish those on the runway or in photographs if the sheer layer was worn against a slip. I’m sure there are some ladies out there that might be tempted to do without an under layer, though!

TheOrigFV45 · 18/01/2019 09:05

If it wasn't see-through it would be beautiful.
Not that I am ever getting married again, like....

labazsisgoingmad · 18/01/2019 09:06

i thought white wedding dresses were supposed to be virginal and demure obviously not but i certainly would not want my family and friends to see my lady garden or my boobs

FrowningFlamingo · 18/01/2019 09:11

My friend got married in something not that dissimilar but it real life it had a nude lining and really looked lovely, not see through at all. When she sent me photos before the wedding I was gobsmacked if I'm honest. But it really did look fabulous.

Notunderstanding · 18/01/2019 09:13

I always think these catwalk dresses are funny. Purely because a white wedding dress originally symbolised being a virgin. But when every one can see through it it Kind of takes the tradition away....and would be very cold this time of year Xmas Wink

ChampooPapi · 18/01/2019 09:53

@LellyMcKelly that dress is fantastic! I cant stop scrolling back to it Grin

ChampooPapi · 18/01/2019 09:53

There surely must be a black version for the groom!

ciderhouserules · 18/01/2019 10:00

I knew that one would surface, never! I still think it's prob a dress that is supposed to fit a much smaller-boobed girl - you can see the fold-over under her boobs where the material would come up and over a smaller top, and the prongy bits/nipple-covers should be low-shoulder.

Yeah, most of these are not virginal! What's the point of them being white? Hmm

caperplips · 18/01/2019 10:17

LellyMcKelly that dress is AMAZING!!!

morningconstitutional2017 · 18/01/2019 10:37

How long before a bride walks down the aisle completely naked except for perhaps a little fascinator in the hair? Holding a bunch of flowers in front of her doo-dah.

I expect I'm behind the times and it's already been done at a nudist camp. No, I don't think I want to see the pictures.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 18/01/2019 10:58

You could always go for this look.

Billbalbaggins is that Victoria Beckham in the audience? She certainly looks bemused!
