To not understand Universal Credit

Ok so DH has been made redundant. We assumed he could claim contributions based JSA, but applying online it looks like we are in an area where UC is rolling out, so he has to apply for that.
Then it asks for my details too. Does this mean that he won't get it as I work full time and earn over £541 a month? I thought JSA was a completely separate thing based on individual contributions. DH has always worked full time, so I can't believe he isn't eligible.
Am going round and round the gov.uk website and losing the will to live.
Can anyone help?

Quick google says it has replaced Income based JSA but not Contribution based.

Contribution based JSA is available even in full UC Rollout Areas. You can only claim Contribution based JSA for a maximum of 6 months. Phone the UC helpline and they should point you in the right direction.

Thanks everyone. That sounds more positive. I think he will call the local JSA office tomorrow to check.
