I've just seen Vanessa whatever she is called on This Morning saying they are hosting an AIBU phone in! Are they CF's or what?!?!

Wtf?!

WatcherOfTheNight · 17/01/2019 11:44

Yes they are CF !

SwimmingInMuslins · 17/01/2019 11:45

Is Vanessa Felts actually Any Fucker though, that's the question....

fingerlickingud · 17/01/2019 12:18

Swimminginmuslins now that would be odd as I've always liked AnyFucker & felt lukewarm on Feltz Grin

I saw this the other day and thought they were doing some feature on Mumsnet but no, they have blatantly stolen AIBU!

fingerlickingud · 17/01/2019 12:24

Unbelievably CF-ery! I feel like phoning in on a fake pretext and accusing them of stealing OUR AIBU on air!Grin

But surely Mumsnet AIBU is just a more polite version of Reddit's AITA (am I the asshole)? Or was it done here first...?

PrincessScarlett · 17/01/2019 13:53

This Morning have been doing this since before Christmas. VF must be a mumsnetter to be heading it up.

CantWaitToRetire · 17/01/2019 13:55

I noticed an article on Good Morning Britain the other day and the subject matter had been stolen from an active thread on MN. Journalists in all forms of media appear to be getting very lazy nowadays.

incywincybitofa · 17/01/2019 14:51

Why do people think Anyfucker is Vanessa Feltz?
I'm sure MN can phone in and ask but I have a feeling it won't end well not with all the trolls and reverses that there are on here

concretesieve · 17/01/2019 14:56

I don't watch it, but they are BVU Grin

NC4Now · 17/01/2019 14:59

AIBU isn’t exclusive to MN. It’s on other forums too.
I don’t see why journalists shouldn’t take inspiration from MN threads if they aren’t directly lifting comments from them. They are interesting talking points. My only problem is if they quote posters directly.
If they take an idea and find their own sources, well that’s journalism.

vampirethriller · 17/01/2019 15:17

Take a Break magazine lift threads from here for their Facebook page.

fingerlickingud · 17/01/2019 18:02

NC4NOW - well fair do's if it's a commonly used thing / I don't frequent other sites with boards - this was meant lightheartedly really but MN is a go to source of "inspiration" for many a tabloid journalist. Makes you wonder how they managed without us really.

PrincessScarlett I don't normally get the chance to watch daytime TV so I'd never seen it before! I actually watched it - seems it's really VF pronouncing judgement/ being an agony aunt. Certainly wasn't as to the point as AF - but then which of are in RL?!Grin

Aibu was here first. Only fair though since MN stole AMA.

I prefer AITA though since they’ve got the option of everyone’s an asshole and no ones an asshole. It leads to much more nuanced consideration in people’s replys.
