I'm exhausted! I don't know how I'm still alive.

I'm so tired i don't even know what I did today, I'll also be tired tomorrow.

I once went on holiday by myself and floated on a lilo for a week. I did nothing but float and read.

Can i join in the holiday? My toddler has been ill all week and is waking up between ten and two non stop every night. Making myself stay up til half two so not being dragged out of sleep and have to be up at six every morning. Plus planning a birthday party for the weekend and have a cake to make and ice by Saturday 😭😭😭

BreconBeBuggered · 17/01/2019 23:12

I'm not, right now, because due to DIY projects and mobility problems, once I go up to bed I won't be able to come down again until someone's awake to help me in the morning, and therefore my system's gone into contrary mode. But on a more general level, sometimes I feel as if I haven't slept properly for decades.

Grumpos · 18/01/2019 08:09

Bloody shattered from baby being a little bugger and thinking 4am is a sensible time to sand in the morning. We’re currently trying to stick to a sleep routine with mixed success.
I am also a night owl by nature and the thought of going to bed before 11 is alien to me but I forced myself and last night was before 10. I feel better for those extra 2 hours before a 1am feed. 3&4&5am settles Sad

Redcrayonisthebest · 18/01/2019 17:17

@Underthegreenwood
I have now bought some macca root, I would like to stabilise my moods so fingers crossed!!

blueshoes · 18/01/2019 17:57

My dcs are 15 and 12 with no sleep issues. I am not tired, despite working ft and sleeping about 6 hours on average on a weekday. I catch up on sleep on weekends.

I was sleep trained in the City.

kateandme · 18/01/2019 19:08

like it a tiredness in your bones! like some invisible strings are in your libs pulling downwards.sooo heavy in every cell.aaaaagh

I wreckon if we all contributed what we could for this villa we could get the best ever.couple a dozen naked ladies floating around on a lilo in silence.im in please.
I almost wept at ur holiday!

kateandme · 18/01/2019 19:11

Terribletwos84 could you make the cake in stages in the times you awake.so do the spong in the middle of the night before.then its cool for the day.or even before and freeze it.so all uve got to think about is the décor.

Vitalogy · 18/01/2019 19:15

It's all that cake you're eating OP Wink

SeaViewBliss · 18/01/2019 19:15

I am not tired but I feel I have earned it! My DS is 14 and my DD has moved out. They were both terrible sleepers for many years.

I have a lovely DH and we do equal shares of chores/family management.

Also I changed jobs in September from a job with a lot of pressure and responsibility (did it for 15 years) to one which is much more creative with barely any deadlines.

I’m very lucky.

pineapplebryanbrown · 18/01/2019 19:26

Vitalogy Traitor! Cake is packed with vitamins, it's all that's keeping me alive.

Me :)

I'm always bloody tired. I have fibromyalgia. And insomnia. I've been up since 4 today which is good for me. Today is my birthday(41) and I'm fucked. Going to bed at 8 Grin

I'm tired of being tired.

BBInGinDrinking · 18/01/2019 19:33

And one of your five a day if lemon drizzle or carrot cake.

Whatever gets you through the night is alright.

Zoflorabore · 18/01/2019 19:34

Haha I remember the Horrid Henry episode when he told Peter that crisps were vegetables as they are made with potatoes.
Sounds good to me!

BBInGinDrinking · 18/01/2019 19:37

I also have lemon in my gin. It all counts.

Happy Birthday Cake

KittyVonCatsworth · 18/01/2019 19:45

Ugh. Yes. So bloody tired of being tired. It's getting back into the routine after the holidays combined with bloody perimenopausal sweats and broken sleep, random and unpredictable period lethargy and a sodding urine infection to add to it. I could quite happily be on that holiday with you, but you stay on the lilo because I couldn't guarantee that I wouldn't pee in the pool for the relief 😂

holidaylady · 18/01/2019 20:05

I did a holiday like that a few years ago. Including swimming in the sea. Very restorative.

Let's go!

FrozenMargarita17 · 18/01/2019 20:08

My mum said to me yesterday she was going for a wedding in and I said 'ooh are you staying in a hotel?' And she was horrified and said 'on my own?! No!!'

I would KILL to stay in a lovely hotel on my own right now.

Gillian1980 · 18/01/2019 20:09

Yep, I’m exhausted.

5 months pregnant, a poorly 3 year old. Haven’t slept properly for a week due to DD being poorly. Trying to work in evenings etc as I’ve missed work all week to be at home with dd.

Coincides with DH being abroad so on my own this week.

Zoflorabore · 18/01/2019 20:21

Thank you BB Smile

Well I made it to 20.20 so off to bed now.

Nice book. Chocolate and a new mattress!

holidaylady · 18/01/2019 20:27

Hundred what's your atlas mountains hotel called?
Think they'll take a group booking? Grin

ecuse · 18/01/2019 20:39

I am almost weeping at the thought of how much I want that holiday....

Cheerymom · 18/01/2019 20:42

I'm not tired and I drink like a fish when I can and have after decades of being tired most of the time, now spend weekends either in bed with books and cheesy toast or walking all day on the coast. When I think of the shiteload of stuff I used to do in the tired decades I actually could have cut a lot out, like half arsed socialising, half arsed keeping fit, having to keep every aspect of who I was 'going'. Now I do my job, teaching FT in the week plus all the other obligations then friday 5pm until monday 7am are mine and mine only. No children single helps.Every woman I know is exhausted and it's ridiculous.

Badtasteflump · 20/01/2019 11:30

Yes I’m always tired. I don’t even know why anymore, the DC are old enough that they take themselves off to bed, never wake me in the night and lie in at weekends. I think I spent so many years with screwed up sleep I’ve forgotten how to sleep properly...

Notmorewashing · 20/01/2019 12:01

I regularly dream of that holiday !!!!
Unwell kids unwell parents and 40hr week and shit traffic !!! It’s a drain :(

April2020mom · 20/01/2019 23:35

I should definitely be asleep right now. But I cannot sleep. My children are out for the count. So is my partner. Ultimately if this carries on I may consider seeing a sleep medicine doc and therapy too. Hopefully it’ll answer most of my questions. Are there any medications that is worth trying out or not? A sleep study might also be useful.
A reading vacation sounds like a great idea. I’ll happily pay to join you as well.
