I'm exhausted! I don't know how I'm still alive.

I'm so tired i don't even know what I did today, I'll also be tired tomorrow.

I once went on holiday by myself and floated on a lilo for a week. I did nothing but float and read.

I'm not tired. I don't drink much, do lots of exercise, take Vitamin D drops, and try to read books not my phone before bed.

I have 3DC, one with SEN, and a v busy full-time job. I am often so fucking exhausted I can't speak when I get home at night.

But today I am not tired!

ApolloandDaphne · 17/01/2019 11:54

I am not tired. But my children are grown up and i am retired. I get a lot of fresh air walking my dog, i sleep well and although i keep busy i don't really have much stress in my life.

I am not being smug because i have been stressed and suffered badly from lack of sleep in the past but life has improved loads now and i feel very lucky to be in my current position.

Laslo · 17/01/2019 11:58

Nothing, I repeat nothing, sounds as appealing to me right now than having a week away by myself floating on a lilo and reading.

Damn right I’m tired.

Firstworddinosaur · 17/01/2019 11:59

God I think I remember a day back in 2006 when I wasn't tired. Good memories .

BillywigSting · 17/01/2019 12:02

I'm tired and have been since September, because despite taking all of my vitamins (though vit d has made a difference) I have been low level sick since ds went to school. Then Christmas wiped me out, then my grandad died the day before New year so had to fly back to Ireland for his funeral and to help my aunt (who lived with him) because she had broken her arm.

I couldn't even be a weeping mess at funeral because of all the people there I was the only one he wasn't a father figure/sibling/close cousin. I was the granddaughter who lived in another country.

Had a bit of a wail to dp when I got home because I'd been keeping it together for about a week by that point.

Funeral was last week because of Christmas delays and the guards having to come and make sure it wasn't suspicious etc.

This week have had murder with the school already and dp has had to work late every night.

I am on my knees. Physically and emotionally. I feel like I could sleep for a week.

It needs to be spring.

I could cope with all of this so much more easily if I wasn't doing it in what feels like constant darkness.

Cobblersandhogwash · 17/01/2019 12:03

Oh I'm glad it's not just me. I was beginning to wonder if I am just a weakling.

Up at 6.15am, chivying kids out of bed and drive to school. Back to walk dogs for an hour. Do all dishwasher and laundry. Bit of freelance work if it's around.

By midday I am exhausted and desperate for a nap. Plus constant back issue causing pain is very wearying too.

I long to be that energetic springy person I used to be. Zero energy now.

I'll join you. See you at the bar!

Laslo · 17/01/2019 12:30

I think we need a group booking halfwitpicker

I might set up a travel company specialising in ‘floating lilo’ holidays for solo tired lady travellers

Redcrayonisthebest · 17/01/2019 12:38

I asked for, and followed tips to make me feel more healthy, on a thread here a few weeks ago. I've been eating more protein, prioritising sleep, making vitamins and probiotics and moving more. I'm beginning to feel less tired now.

pineapplebryanbrown · 17/01/2019 13:37

No talking on the holiday!

Sometimes i couldn't even be bothered to read and just floated. I took shitty romantic DVDs that people at home laugh at me for watching and watched them in my pyjamas when the sun went down then went to bed.

Not tired. Up at 6.05am, got child ready for school, took her to school (5 min walk) for 7.30am, 4 mile bike ride to work to start at 8.15am. Will finish at 4.15pm-ish (office job but with running around sorting stuff out), 4 mile bike ride back, collect child from afterschool club, feed her, bathe her, put her to bed, then do some diamond painting and will probably go to sleep at usual 10.30pm. Rinse and repeat tomorrow. But it's Friday tomorrow! Yay! Grin

Makemeaname · 17/01/2019 13:41

Can't remember not being tired. But I can't get to sleep either. So I have sleeping pills, which make me wake up feeling absolutely shattered. Can't win. Just want to disappear for a month.

pineapplebryanbrown · 17/01/2019 13:41

I'm taking a multivitamin, beta glucans immune support, iron, i don't drink alcohol and I only have 2 cups of caffeine in the morning.

Another not tired, although DS did wake me up at 5am. Hope everyone feels better soon.

pineapplebryanbrown · 17/01/2019 13:43

I do piss about on MN late at night though, but it's fun. I guess should switch off phone at 9pm

It's like I get over excited at midnight, a lack of discipline

OP posts:
minipie · 17/01/2019 13:49

I’m tired because I’m an idiot and don’t go to bed.

For years I was tired because the DC were awful sleepers. Now they aren’t so bad (still FAR from perfect) and it’s like my subconscious goes “oooh, more than 4 hours’ sleep? Not feeling completely like death? Let’s fuck that up by staying up till 1am watching Pitch Perfect and MNing.” I need some self discipline.

HappenstanceMarmite · 17/01/2019 13:58

I remember when the kids were small - and I was also juggling study/work and stress from a 15% mortgage rate - that level of tiredness you describe. I remember vividly thinking how nice it would be to have some sort of illness that necessitated a long stay in hospital! But the illness had to not hurt very much or make me have permanent damage or lose any dignity FFS. I never came up with such an illness so soldiered on 😂😂

MuddlingMackem · 17/01/2019 14:03

Another one tired. Now my kids are older my lack of sleep is due to them not going to bed early enough for me to get to bed early enough. But they're not yet old enough that I can just go off to bed and leave them to sort themselves out, and DH is too laid back to do it for me, plus he's not the one who has to wake them up in the morning. Hmm Grin

I wouldn't want a holiday. My ideal would be DH taking the DC away for a week and leaving me at home to veg and sleep uninterrupted. Grin

January is a time when I'd like to be a little hedgehog hibernating.

Kikipost · 17/01/2019 14:07

Or slightest bit tired

And I’m a single working parents of 5 and 8 year old.

I run 4x a week. Yoga 2/3x

I take magnesium and b12 supplements.

In bed 9.30, light off by10. Alarm at 6, but I usually wake 5.45

Kikipost · 17/01/2019 14:07

not in slightest bit tired

AriadnePersephoneCloud · 17/01/2019 14:07

I want to come on the floating and reading holiday and not talk. I'm so tired all of the time. I have a fitbit and last night was the best night sleep I've had in weeks.... At a grand total of 4 hours 52 minutes!

Kikipost · 17/01/2019 14:08

I fall asleep in nano seconds.

EyeDrops · 17/01/2019 14:12

✋🏼 Also tired.

39 weeks pregnant and 3yo at home. We have basically spent the day on the couch watching CBeebies. Feeling slightly guilty about it but I'm too tired to entertain her Sad (and she's happy I guess?!)
