AIBU to think the women of MN need to Marie Kondo their men?

In light of the never ending tide of posts about shitty, aggressive, lazy, irresponsible, abusive, tedious, rude and dishonest boyfriends and husbands women put on MN, let’s ask the question:

Does this man spark joy?

And for the many thousands who don’t - bin them. Straight into the Joyless Man Pit (TM).

this is no reflection on Mr Pachyderm who is a regular joy-sparking delight

Yup. The world would be a far happier place

StreetwiseHercules · 16/01/2019 19:37

Objectifying and dehumanising. Nice.

TheGoogleMum · 16/01/2019 19:39

I've been in Marie kondo Facebook groups for a while, deciding your partner doesn't spark joy as part of the process is a fairly common occurrence! My husband definitely sparks joy so I'll keep him around!

MargotLovedTom1 · 16/01/2019 19:41

Aye right Hercules Hmm. Nothing wrong with calling an arsehole what it is.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 16/01/2019 19:42

Yep my husband sparks joy

Well I suppose its what your definition is but im not swapping him for a shitty one

Pachyderm1 · 16/01/2019 19:43

Hercules is here to teach us all about being joyless Grin

I know you’re being lighthearted, but MN doesn’t represent the majority in terms of partners. Though many who post here do seem to pick the absolute pits in blokes.

Really wish people would dump that bloody awful ‘spark joy’ phrase. It’s barely into 2019 and that is already the most annoying phrase of the year.

Pachyderm1 · 16/01/2019 19:51

I know you’re being lighthearted, but MN doesn’t represent the majority in terms of partners.

I did say ‘women of MN’ not ‘women of the world’.

I was going to say, binning jobs, relationships and habits can be a common side effect of KMing! Once you’re tuned into your joy-dar you never look at anything the same way.

WofflingOn · 16/01/2019 20:01

I was assuming you were meaning that’s one should never have more than 30 concurrent lovers .

Pachyderm1 · 16/01/2019 20:53

@WofflingOn no qualms about that and hats off to anyone who has the energy and organisational skills!

Love this! Great idea. An older friend always used to tell me that your partner should enhance your life, if they don’t, leave. My mum used to tell us that you’d know you were with the right man as things would be more fun if they were around. Brilliant advice.

RagingWhoreBag · 16/01/2019 21:01

Or as Samantha said in Sex and The City

“Does he make you go like this Smile or like this Sad “

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 16/01/2019 21:09

Yanbu not one bit.
Sick to death of reading thread after thread about lazy, selfish, dickhead men and the women that put up with it.

Sarahandduck18 · 03/02/2019 10:08

I said this to dp when we were watching it!

No he does not ‘spark joy’ lol
