AIBU to think DD can now go back to school? Week off.

DD has had a week off of school since she had her appendix removed. She is up walking about just fine. She has some work to be doing up until the 30th which is how long we assumed she would be off for but she is just sitting watching movies all day and demanding I get her stuff. She hasn't done any of the work yet. I'm thinking getting her back to school would be the best thing.

She is 15.

AIBU?

“If you don’t start the work tomorrow, you’ll have to go back to school ASAP as you seem to be fine” and follow through on it Grin

I would check with your GP or practice nurse first.

If it was laparoscopic, I’d send her back on Monday.

demanding I get her stuff

Is she normally this rude?!

They'll need to risk assess it all and probably won't just want her turning up unexpected but try and speak to the school to arrange her returning on Monday, possibly with adjustments around what she's expected to carry around and definitely with permission to sit out of PE.

Littlebird88 · 16/01/2019 19:32

up semd her back for sure.

It's not how she's feeling but the potential of what she may come across in school - kids being rough, being bashed with a bag etc... things that can't be controlled and aren't necessarily malicious. Just ask for school work and switch the tv off.
