"We have no money" threads? It hit me today.

I might be quite cynical, but there was number of discussions before Christmas about threads talking about how they have 50p on leccy kind of things which obviously prompted discussions about scams online and being careful who you give money to.

I believe some OPs were genuine (and hope they are now better), some defended themselves vehemently, but I can't help to wonder, how come there are no similar threads since Christmas. Hmm

Am I the only one?

Before Christmas is a time people tend to run out of money. But it's also a good time for scammers. I suspect it's 50/50 to be honest.

I have no money to get my car from the garage... If someone could kindly help me and send £65,000 to Bentley and I'll get it back to you when my Giro comes in.... Halo

Maybe because of the vitriol many posters were on the back end of following posting?

I certainly won't be posting anything about benefits etc. Ever again On here. Posters can be downright nasty

We had £800 to live off and pay rent with this month...I didn’t write a post but be assured that us porpers still exist

*Im being lightheartedly sarcy but sadly this is true

BusySnipingOnCallOfDuty · 16/01/2019 17:02

Moved in with OH over xmas which means benefits went bye bye, but also it's so expensive to live where we are (here to be near my mum who helps me out and his work) so we have very little to live on right now, if anyone wants to buy some bonkers artwork let me know 😂

I've got twins that need socks and a diet of prawns, they're amazing twins, seriously ill but I'll have plenty of time to update you all to all the twists and turns and respond to pms.

I have 7 kids in total and the other 5 need a diet of nandos as i can't cook. I have many many problems, none of your solutions will help. I'm being made homeless on Thursday, none of this is in any way my fault.

I'm also fostering next door's budgie.

We accept paypal and amazon vouchers.

Arrowfanatic · 16/01/2019 17:26

The skint are still around, its just more obvious as xmas time when people have probably overspent on xmas presents/food so instead of having £10 to last out they then only have 50p.

I have ooooh around £6 to last me, thankfully payday is Friday not that I'll be rolling in it then either.

JanuarySurprise · 16/01/2019 18:20

Some of you 😂

Hope everyone else will be fine soo.

It's just bit mind-boggling because I always thought that January is the no money month rather than December.

@peachgreen, I would even guess smth like 70/30 fake/real

PrawnTheChoker · 16/01/2019 20:44

I'd rather have cash @Klopptimist, I'd have the salmon but it would taste bad. Just brushed my teeth so I'm all minty.

brizzledrizzle · 16/01/2019 20:48

I can donate a used parking ticket, it's from Waitrose so well worth having. None of this Lidl nonsense Grin

I worked for one of the big insurance companies in complaints. It was well known that from the beginning of November the number of outrageous claims would go up.

Engineers apparantly stole 50 inch Tv's, killed pedigree dogs worth thousands etc. In one case one engineer was accused of running over a child, luckily there was CCTV in the area and the child actually kicked the van. Usually requesting the got the item/animal replaced plus alot if money to keep from going to the papers. In these cases we refer them to the police and then we would liase with the police. It was rare the police were actually called and then when they were it never went anywhere.
