First world problem I know and really asking out of curiosity, but yesterday I was booking flights through an Opodo search
I was on the site a while, juggling hotels as well, but clicked "buy" at a quote of £481. A message then came up to say the airline had increased the price to £632 while I'd been going through the process so I declined and went to Jet2's own site instead
Far from having gone up their own price was £424 ... £57 less than Opodo's original quote and £208 less than they wanted after "the airline" put the price up
I probably should have just gone to Jet2 in the first place, but is it me or are Opodo taking the whatsit here? Obviously they need to turn a profit, but IME flight agents usually charge the same or less than the airlines and I'm wondering if Jet2 would have got the extra they asked for anyway?
