To go away on March 29th?

Planning a birthday trip to Holland with a friend, we had planned to fly on Friday 29th and return on April 1st. We were going to book it today but I've just thought... oh shit Brexit Confused. So would you go the weekend before to offset any potential chaos or will it be fine? Or does nobody know and we'd be risky to book it?

I think it’s half term anyway? I’d go a bit before.

Oh is it?! Can tell I don't have kids.. is the weekend before half term?

Half term is February and Easter holidays are mid April so schools won't be a problem then.
No sure about brexit though.

dreamingofsun · 15/01/2019 16:22

we are flying on the 31 march. maybe i'm being naive but i'm not at all worried.

rickandmorts · 15/01/2019 16:23

That's kind of the answer I wanted dreaming! I'm just a bit worried.

And thanks blibb, just tried to google but couldn't find a clear answer as all schools were different.

Booked a holiday months ago flying to Asia on 31st March. Never occurred to me to worry either.
Remember the millennium when we were all convinced the Y2K bug would end the world and the planes would fall from the sky at midnight?!?! Yeah... I think we will get through Brexit in a similar way.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 15/01/2019 16:27

With a valid UK passport it shouldn't make any difference either way.

Bellasorellaa · 15/01/2019 16:27

go and enjoy yourself

Bingo! That must be a record.

Lonelyheart2020 · 15/01/2019 16:28

Comparing the y2k bug to brexit is the stupidest think I have heard.

Satsumaeater · 15/01/2019 16:38

I think there is now quite a high chance Brexit will be delayed so you should be ok in March. Those of us who booked for the beginning of July thinking things would have settled down by then - not so much. Oh well we'll see. I've only booked accommodation so far, am holding on a bit longer before booking flights.
