Any one else find that when they work from home, their eating pattern goes out the window?

Mines always off too. 10.28 and I haven't eaten breakfast yet, just hot chocolate. I will have some soup around 11.30 I think.

Bigonesmallone3 · 15/01/2019 10:30

Iv been craving a custard doughnut which is in the corner of my kitchen since 9.43

😭 I should probably just do it

Asta19 · 15/01/2019 10:31

I don't have lunch at all. I find if I'm not out and about I just don't get hungry. I sometimes have a nap instead Grin I find that much more satisfying!

GrapesAndCheese · 15/01/2019 10:37

Ha! OP I've just put my DS down for his nap and I've already got my lunch out of the fridge ready to munch. Thinking of cooking some gyozas to have with my leftover rice and katsu curry sauce Grin

What did you have for lunch?

MrsPussinBoots · 15/01/2019 10:44

I'm in the office today and found half a tube of smarties for breakfast at 9am Blush working from home tomorrow and luckily there are no smarties or treats there.

Kikipost · 15/01/2019 10:45

Grilled chicken. Avocado, large salad and come cottage cheese

So a proper lunch!

LaurieFairyCake · 15/01/2019 10:51

When I'm working from home I have to put off eating breakfast as long as possible or it opens my stomach and by 2.30 I've eaten all my calories for the day.

Kikipost · 15/01/2019 10:55

I need to put on quite a bit of weight so I’m not bothered in that respect

It’s more guilt that I should be working but distracted by wanting my lunch!

Head down now though!

Yep. Ever since I started working from home my eating patterns have gone crazy. I stupidly thought I could be healthier when working from home, as I can cook stuff from scratch for breakfast and lunch. But there’s too much temptation to graze and no office busybody to judge me if I have a second packet of crisps. Blush

viques · 15/01/2019 11:01

i am visualising a custard doughnut cowering in the corner of Bigones kitchen, hoping that if it just s q u e e z e s into the corner a bit more and stays very still then it will be forgotten and will be able to do a Tom Cruise type escape through the back door......

Put it out of its misery Biggers, eat the damn thing!

Pachyderm1 · 15/01/2019 11:02

YABU for this alone. Want some of mine? I’ve enough going spare...

missbattenburg · 15/01/2019 11:09

11:02 - stop for coffee break

11:09 - wonder if it's to early for lunch?

Oooooh can I have what you're having?

I work from home 4 days a week. I usually wait until lunchtime (after 1pm) to eat my lunch ... it's all the mid-morning snacks that are the problem.

MarshaBradyo · 15/01/2019 11:16

When jet lag made me get up at 5am and lunch at 10.30 was entirely reasonable

I still eat early and will find some lunch when dd wakes up shortly

Best thing about being home, where it’s quiet and no one cares when you eat

Bigonesmallone3 · 15/01/2019 11:17

@viques
Mission complete

10.26. I work from home. I have just had lunch!
Biancadelriosback · 15/01/2019 11:18

I haven't actually started yet! Just woke up and switched the laptop on eeeeek!

Redpriestandmozart · 15/01/2019 11:20

When I'm 'working from home' as in a structured day holed up in my studio (read dining room) and painting (on an easel not the walls) I forget to eat and will have breakfast about 3pm and lunch about 4.30pm. It's an awful habit as I'm rarely hungry for dinner.

I usually start the day by bring a big mug of peppermint tea in with me and usually I will have forgotten to drink that too. As said earlier though, once I open my stomach then I'll eat but if I don't have anything it's very easy to forget to eat!

45andahalf · 15/01/2019 11:22

I eat tonnes of crap when I WFH.

mogtheexcellent · 15/01/2019 11:29

Im eating crap and watching reruns of Father Brown.

Im glad its been given the Ok to eat lunch. Am starving!

CatnissEverdene · 15/01/2019 11:38

I'm hungry even though I had breakfast just over an hour ago. I did go for a long walk with the dogs though in my defence.

Mayrhofen · 15/01/2019 11:38

I WFH and have done for over a decade. I only eat two meals a day and yes, I have already eaten lunch today. I do try to wait until 11 AM though!

LangCleg · 15/01/2019 11:41

Oh, thank God! I am not alone. Lunch time sarnie at 10.45 today here. You beat me by 19 minutes, OP!

blueskydays · 15/01/2019 11:42

OMG - this is me too! I'm watching the clock... as soon as it hits 12 I'll be making lunch.

Already today I've had a big porridge breakfast, a large handful of almonds, some dates, an apple... and two coffees. (So far avoided the proper unhealthy stuff)

I can't really be this hungry... it's just the kitchen is so close...

Runningforcocktails · 15/01/2019 11:46

I’ve been working from home for 18 months now (40 hours a week) and I think if I’d spent this time in an office I’d be 2 stone heavier at least! I normally wait until 1pm before I have lunch but the need for snacks starts at 3ish Blush

redlittlesquirrel · 15/01/2019 11:46

I really struggle to be good when I WFH. I don't eat breakfast so in theory I wait until 1:00/1:30 for lunch but most of the time I find myself raiding the kitchen by about 10. Unfortunately we now have a box full of unhealthy food from Christmas that I have to try to avoid too - not easy at the best of times!

I really need to lose some weight this year (not walking to/from work, not climbing stairs etc, spending most of the day in the flat barely moving has made me pile on the pounds, unfortunately) so I'm going to have to do my best to avoid them but we've been away for the week so there isn't much in the cupboards and definitely not many healthy things!
