People expecting me to travel thousands of miles to attend their destination wedding.

People putting their name on waiting lists for designer handbags that cost thousands of pounds.

Pamper parties for 9 year olds.

Any other grumpy old ladies like to list the modern day nonsense they can live without?

I’m not sure what just happened. I was on a thread about Mrs Hinch, then I accidentally commented on this thread. Sorry 😊

People who are 99% vegan.

You're either in or you're out.

And if you are only 99% in, you cannot have an attitude towards people who eat strange meat, such as turtle. Turtle, chicken, beef? All the same thing.

Giggage · 15/01/2019 19:13

Those who think that because they have bought a house, they can do or build what they like with no regard to how it may affect those living around them.

If you build a massive extension that intrudes onto your neighbors garden or eliminated the privacy once gained by 10ft high hedges and trees ....don't be fucking surprised if someone complains about it. (My friend was the one who had the intrusive extension made. I felt sorry for the neighbors, but this seems to be happening more and more)

People who put pictures of their poorly kids or check in with them at hospital on Facebook - stop attention seeking and do your kids really want those pictures/details of their health slapped all over social media

Same people often stating “#blessed”

Kids who don’t say please and thank you - parents, you have a duty to ensure your kids have manners - for their own good as well as just because it makes me grumpy

Instabloodymums and “gushing” on Facebook about “my wife/husband/dog/cat (insert as appropriate) never ceases to amaze me etc etc”. Bloody well tell THEM instead?! Whatever happened to these being private moments?!

People who comment something is “sick” (for good)

“Friends” who ALWAYS “forget” their purse when you go out for lunch or say it’s a new debit card and they don’t know their PIN so you have to pay and never get paid back

People who are always late

Family members who always expect you to pick up the tab/bring the expensive dishes to a meal because you earn more.

Said family members frittering away the little money they do have on a new car, whilst you are sensible and buy second hand

People who post their whole fucking life on Facebook

People who constantly post about how they’re hanging on for pay day and have about 56p in their account, no petrol etc, yet get a take away Costa or similar everyday (you do know how much this adds up to over a year right?!)

How they seem to let ANYONE into M&S and Waitrose these days

I fear I am turning into my mother.

AIBU to dislike tattooed faces? Dickhead drivers? And 99% of the objections voiced here?

Welcome to the Grumpy old women! We rule (or we should rule).

Tcga745 · 15/01/2019 20:01

Men who are only trying to do their job to the best of their ability (whilst being an arrogant wanker) and constantly talking over me
People being constantly offended
The sneaking totalitarianism that is evident in the banning of free speech
Safe spaces
But as for slug eyebrows, I am fascinated by them.... why would anyone make them self look so bizarre.
Being too scared to have my eyebrows shaped in case I end up with slug eyebrows

jellymaker · 15/01/2019 20:07

Yes. This

GlossyTaco · 15/01/2019 20:20

Ben fogle.

woodhill · 15/01/2019 20:22

Loving this thread , many comments strike a chord.

Purplecatshopaholic · 15/01/2019 20:27

Well said @Jitters! I have no issue with women BFing in public if its discrete - you dont need to even notice. I was in Tescos a few months ago and there was a women with her tits out sitting on the floor in an isle - presumably wanting someone to complain or ask her to stop so she could throw a strop. Grow up love - we dont care! No need for it

woodhill · 15/01/2019 20:32

@IrmaFayLear have to agree with your posts.

Sometimes I think the self esteem thing is too much.

Giggage · 15/01/2019 20:33

Apps.

Why does everything need a fucking app.
My dryer has an app....I dont know why. It dries my clothes, I don't want to talk to it, buy things from it or look up things on it.
Why? Why does it need an app?

halfwitpicker · 15/01/2019 20:33

Ben fogle?!

woodhill · 15/01/2019 20:36

Oh and people not making any effort to recycle or clear away rubbish.

notsurewhatshappening · 15/01/2019 20:36

Multi level marketing / network selling schemes (Forever Living, Younique etc)

Teacher bashing- I love teaching but can be exhausting (like many careers). Don't criticise/ pretend to be an expert when you've never taught a day in your life.

Parents who ignore their little darlings when they are beating the crap out of other kids at the park, or watch them being horrible and beam at them. See also, parents who never say no to their children.

Whining children who are tired/ hungry/ bored but won't go to bed/ eat dinner/ find something to do.

Pointless assessments and paperwork at work which are detrimental to children's progress.

People who are ignorant and intolerant about mental health issues.

LittleMissUnreasonable · 15/01/2019 20:43

Entitled people living off bank of mum and dad not understanding why people can't do things they want to... "oh it's so irritating that X can't come to the Ritz with me and spend £50 on afternoon tea" knowing X is working PT and saving up for a house when they themselves have been "gifted" money for a house, car, work full time in a highly paid job...

The word Gifted

People referring to dogs as "doggos"

karala · 15/01/2019 20:53

I love all of you and feel there might be some hope

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 15/01/2019 20:55

Can i add “game playing” please? Not as in video games but as in twats who like to play mind games on dates and people at work who “play the game or the system”. Just be nice normal people.

FleetsumNJetsum · 15/01/2019 20:56

When I try to pass a car doing 45 in a 60 zone, and end up having to go over 70 to accomplish it because they are wankers

FleetsumNJetsum · 15/01/2019 20:58

oh, and drivers behind me with their high beams on. Both these things happened on the way home from work today so I am still seething

missmouse101 · 15/01/2019 21:00

Stupid nonsense concerning abuse of the apostrophe and the your/you're debacle. It is genuinely not difficult to learn and apply the rules correctly.

GenderIsAPrison · 15/01/2019 21:04

Political correctness in place of critical thinking and common sense.

13579fallout · 15/01/2019 21:05

Have no tolerance for bullshit. Can't even be polite a try to listen anymore.

YeOldeNameChange · 15/01/2019 21:07

Someone was doing 16 in a 40 in front of us on Sunday 😂

Protein shakes - when all you fucking do is go to the gym a few times a week SO WHAT
