To ask you how you travel via Doha airport with opiates?

Hello
My friend is travelling to Thailand via Doha in Spring. She has the paperwork sorted for Thailand, but is struggling to find an answer to her question which is- how does she deal with the stopover ( only 2 hours) in Doha. Contacting the embassies hasn't helped. Literature just says all narcotics are banned. She needs numerous opiates and codeine for her bad back. Does anyone have experience of going through a stopover with similar?

For Dubai (if it helps) I carried new unopened packets with label on, in the pharmacy bag with pharmacy stamp on, copy of prescription and a letter from my gp. Bad back too and carrying oramorph. No interest shown, no enquiries made at any point. Am sure someone will come on soon 're Doha in particular. UAE Embassy was of help.

UAE did have a list of everything banned in detail including all names used. Nothing I carried was named but I was still very aware. Is she sure there is no actual list? I was referred to a company that handled such enquiries for the embassy.

Yes I did acknowledge that. Would still try ringing the embassy as when I actually got a list of banned drugs and checked through it all mine were ok (though I still took the above precautions) ie what I thought would be banned surprisingly weren't.

If it’s only a 2 hour stopover without going through customs it might not be an issue.

Yeah don't quote me but if only in transit it might not be an issue. There will be security, but not a customs check.

Thanks a million I'm sure something there will be of assistance to her. She tried the airline, the embassy to no avail. Personally I think she'll be fine but better safe than sorry.
